Before I call my dealer,I thought that I'd pose my problem here and see if there is an easy fix. Plain and simple,my trunk will not open. It springs and I get maybe a 1/2 inch slot. After that it is a no go. I have a convertible. The trunk is empty.
Any solutions?
Thanks.

Try and put the top down and then back up again. It may not have closed fully/properly the last time you had it down.
Try putting top up and down again or opening trunk with top in different position-ie if won't open with top up try with top down. Just a guess but this is what I would try.
On my '14 Vert - - - sometimes the trunk will only 'pop' a small amount- just enough to get my fingers under the rear edge of the deck lid and then I just pull it open. I does feel like it is sticking to the rubber weather stripping... but other than the minor inconvienance of squezing my fingers into the tight opening, it has always opened when I needed to get into the trunk.

Had problem with mine when loaded down at somerset. Used the key in the fob and opened it manually. Which worked fine. Took the floor up and then the back plastic panel that covers the latch. Then messed with all the plug ins at the latch and ECU's back there and it started working again. No problem since
There is a lot of insulation on that back panel and it pushes on the wires at the ECU's back there and with my truck so fully loaded it must have lost connection back there. I kinked the wires toward the back of the car right after the plugins to provide clearance!

Check and see if the Emergency escape line on the right hand side of the trunk has been puled out a bit.
I have a coupe, but the rear hatch refused to open awhile back. Had to use the key to open it manually. Took it to the dealer, who replace the actuator. He told be it just stopped working. Was an easy fix, but it did take 2 trips to the dealer - one to assess the problem and another to get it fixed after the part came in. No problems since.
I'm just trolling as I still have a C6 (Lordy I would love to have a C7), but it is a Vert. Mine started that also. It would pop up just a little, but not enough to clear the latch. I would have to slip my fingers under the lid, and hit the FOB again. I put a little good old WD40 on the latch mechanism, and luckily that fixed the problem. Maybe not the same problem, but it's a cheap thing to try first. Good luck.
