It's bug season in Texas and every time I drive the car it gets splattered with bugs. I've been using Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover to get the bug splats off and then using ICE Wax where I cleaned. I use the wax over the areas I've cleaned because I assume the tar and bug remover is removing the wax too. Is there any downside to frequently using products like these?

no downside...carry on....better protection for bugs with Collinite 845, but ICE is OK...
If you find yourself going through a lot of bug and tar remover , try this first .....get some microfiber towels and soak em in VERY hot water, and lay them on the bugs for 45 secs or so.....that should dissolve and release most of them, for you to clean up with the solvent.

Seems to me that saves the wax and sealant on the finish, if no solvent is required, correct?

Great idea, I'll give it a try next time I run into a bunch of those pesky Northeast FL bugs.
