Default GM's capability

No doubt the C7 is a car possessing superior performance. However, the thought struck me when I looked at a McClaren P1 that GM would have no trouble producing this car for a lot less than the $2M these things cost only because of all the hand-building low production. What do you think?

Hmm, GM Bean Counters would kill the concept of producing a low volume car and probably fire the engineer who dared bring up the idea! McLaren also has a long history of working with structural carbon fiber in their F1 racers, GM buys some simple CF parts for the Vette from vendors. McLaren's experience with F1 racing is no doubt a great help in engineering the few road cars they produce. There is a limited market for these cars and cutting the price in half would have a minimal volume increase IMO and not nearly enough to offset the reduced revenue. Just my $0.02!
