I purchased my 15 C7 Z51 A8 from Kerbeck and now I am having to go through the CA smog stuff.
I am using a OBD2 Bluetooth reader to view emission readiness and I can't get the O2 sensor to become ready. Everything else except the EVAP is ready. Any input is appreciated on how to get to O2 sensors to pass.
I bought pre-owned from AZ ('14 Z-51 A6) and just drove it to a smog station on my way home. Passed with no issues. Don't they make these cars to be 50-state compliant right out of the factory?
I remember people having issues and saying they needed somewhere between 250-500 miles on the car for California's new smog equipment to read everything. Myself I drove home from the museum and had no issues when I took it in, obviously I had a lot of miles on it. But any reputable smog shop would know if they tested and it didn't clear, that the reason I listed above is causing it, and they would tell you to go put some miles on it. And they would retest for free anyways. Good luck.

Right now I have ~360 miles. Mainly highway. I drive it like the drive cycle says around 60 mph on the highway for >5 minutes but to no avail.
Sorry to go off topic but what was this experience like? Did you do courtesy delivery to a dealer in California? If so, what dealer and how much did they charge for the service? What was the out-the-door cost you paid?
Any info you can provide is much appreciated. I'm debating whether to buy from one of the volume dealers knowing how much of a pain it is to bring a car into California from out of state. Thanks.
I didn't get a courtesy delivery. I had Joe@Kerbeck help me out. Your out the door price will be better then the CA dealers. Rydell offered 1k off / no supplier pricing while Kerbeck had ~5k off or allowed me to use supplier if I wanted.
I believe some of those top dealers do courtesy delivery. Looking back I would tried as hard as I can to get it because the emission situation now has become really ridiculous.
If you don't get courtesy delivery I recommend shipping using InterCity Lines.
Follow the GM Drive Cycle several times and you should be good.........
I monitored the obd2 using a scanner and ensured i was in closed loop before starting. Though I cant immediately get to 55, after a few minutes I got to the highway and maintained 57 ~40 miles. And it still didnt clear the incomplete. But nowhere on the plot does it say O2 sensor just HO2S. It is also impossible to decelerate to ~20 and go back to 55 on the highway.
It took me over 800 miles of driving and following various instructions for satisfying those smog parameters before they all reset and finally passed the CA inspections. It was a real pain having to drive the car that much, just for the sake of putting miles in it for the smog test issues.

You will find couple threads indicating how tough it is for new C7 to pass CA smog. I called Kerbeck when I was about to order the C7. They were not doing courtesy deliveries so I moved on to MacMulkin. Ordered 2015 Z51 A8. MacMulkin will provide a list of courtesy dealers in CA. I chose Delillo in HB. Got supplier discount since I have a credit union account. Courtesy fee was $300. Didnt need smog or vin varification. Best buying experience ever.

Yep, its not my daily either so its even harder!! What are the risks of getting pulled over if my temp registration has expired?

I assume that you could go down to DMV and get an extension on the temp registration. Mine is not a daily driver either so, it was even more irritating for me having to aimlessly drive the car just to reset those parameters. I also used an OBDII reader to keep an eye on them.
Previously, I had to do the same aimless driving in a 34' motorhome which lost the smog parameters when the battery died. It took over 500 miles of wasted time and gasoline, added smog, to finally reset them.

The registration person who is doing my paperwork has provided me with 2 extensions already. Don't know if I am allowed any more. Thanks for the feedback.
