PDR options for 2014
The only thing I regret about buying a 2014 is the lack of the PDR. I'm kind of a data junkie, and I really wish there was some way to have the normal PDR installed in my 2014. I know there were some companies who were considering it, and maybe they've even done it, but I'd be hesitant to have something like that done unless it was a GM authorized upgrade. Sadly, we can be sure that won't happen.
That leaves some form of standalone PDR. There are any number of cameras you can stick in the windscreen, but the goal would be having data overlaid on the image, so a camera alone isn't going to work for me. I know it's possible to record data from the OBD port, and it would be nice if there was a good way to overlay selected data on the video.
Racelogic makes the VBOX-HD, which would probably be nice, but it's about $2600, and doesn't seem to get any of it's data from the car. They make a "lite" version as well, but it's not HD video quality, and it's still pretty darn expensive.
What other options are out there for video with data overlay?
Thanks,
Rusty
