As I prepare to fly to Bowling Green on the 12th of August to pick up my 3LT TR Vert.....the nights get longer and longer. I am 70 years young and I haven't been this excited since....since.....let me see.....well since I was a young man. I know I'll get through the factory tour and delivery process ok....it's the 750 mile drive back to Florida that keeps me awake. So, if someone see's a OLD MAN in a Red Stingray Convertible with the top down, a smile from ear to ear and a good looking blonde in the passenger seat on Interstate 75 on the 13th of August .....WAVE!!!!
Enjoy!! It is a great drive back...70 is young! My dad was 72 when we picked up our cars in May!! The museum delivery is AMAZING! Only word of advise, take your time and don't be in a hurry. There were a couple of other things that I would have like to take some time to do but was rushed out by those who wanted to hit the road.
Congrats and so happy to see your post. What a terrific experience with the Museum Delivery AND the ride back home AND a convertible AND especially the "good looking blonde in the passenger seat."
I am 73 years young and picked up my new 2015 C7 about 6 weeks ago on a trade in of my 2012 911. I have owned many new cars over the years. I can't remember being this excited abut a car. It is my daily driver and I'm loving it. Congratulations enjoy you trip back home.
I picked my Z51 convertible from the museum last year when I was 76 and trailered it back home. I also had tears in my eyes seeing it for the first time.
Now 5,000 miles later I am getting ready to take a 4500 mile r/t to the east coast and spend 4 days in the Poconos at the NCCC convention.
I am now 77 and am like a little kid getting his American Flyer train set
Waiting for the trip.
