I've read the SVT forums a few times. They actually seem like chill people. Most of the people on MustangG6 are as well, but there's a few who hate anything that isn't a Ford or a Mustang.

Just because someone looks towards your car then looks away does not mean they are (Richards). I know it's hard to believe but some people might actually "not care " about what you drive.

I however, do like your Vette so I would look.

When i went to pickup my new C7 ZO6 at the dealership i drove my SRT Hellcat and the whole chevrolet dealership came outside to see it .Which was a bad idea because then the questions started and i spent atleast 25 mins answering questions and showing the engine off . I just hate when people ask me is that a real Hellcat or if it is Fast . First off if i am coming to buy a brand new ZO6 I dont think i would be driving a Fake Hellcat and 707+ HP should answer the is it fast without asking me . lol But they all liked the Dodge SRT Hellcat car . Anybody who is into fast cars or cars in general will always appreciate a Badass car from another brand.

Funny how the first person to compliment the car......is a mustang owner.

Which I think is great. None of that my car is better than yours crap (like many that love their car exhibit).
I have an appreciation myself for anyone driving a kick *** car. Was nice to see the love coming from a non vette owner.

And I have passed a few vettes so far. no acknowledgement. haha
Similar deal in a parking lot, pull into a spot and a gal and her kid driving a GT Mustang come over and ogle the C7. She comments how beautiful it is and so on. I have he kid sit in the drivers seat and he's happy as a clam.

I find that "real" car people, regardless of what they drive, can still admire and pass along a complement to some else driving a nice car. I know I do.

To be honest I got a great deal of pleasure talking with these kids who were so happy to share what they had done with their Civic. What the teenagers lacked in money, they more than made up with in enthusiasm.

So you can count me in the car enthusiast group, who appreciate all performance cars, regardless of their manufacturer. And just as important as the cars are the fellow enthusiasts who own those cars.
I agree 100%. I talked with a kid this weekend who just bought his first car. It was '96 Mustang that had the typical dings and wear for 20 year old car. But in his eyes it was the best car ever. And having been in his shoes, I knew exactly how he felt. He had already done a couple of mods and was excited to point them out. It was a great conversation and I easily complimented his new ride with no pretense at all on my part. I'm a car guy, and so was he. Hell, half the kids in my neighborhood aren't even interested enough to go get their driver's license. I can't even begin to relate to that...

Competition and rivalry breeds innovation. I'm all for a better faster mustang if it makes the corvette better.

That's a good thing. Because the new Mustang GT is a great car for the money.

I like all cars. Most people generally do. I've only had one guy be an out-and-out *** to me. I was driving my recently traded in SRT Challenger and got gas when a GT500 rolled up next to me. I complimented the guy on his car. I asked him if he's done anything to his car, and he said he put a lot of money into the car including forged internals, etc. I complimented him again. By this time I was done filling my gas and was headed back to my car, but then he proceeds to talk about what a piece of shiii my car is and how his car would wipe the floor with my car.

I was just surprised about the encounter and didn't know what to do. I gave him a thumbs up and drove off.

A year later, went back to the same gas station, recognized the car. This time, expecting the worst, didn't say a word & minded my own business. This time he goes out of his way to talk trash about my Challenger.

This time, I asked him what his problem was, and told him that he represents everything that's wrong with some car people. He probably wanted to start something, but I'm a bit big, so he backed down and drove off. I haven't seen him since.

Every year we go to a Mustangs vs Corvettes car show at the Immokolee Casino and believe me, most people are "car" guys and appreciate nice cars, period!

That's me. And anyone who is brand specific or whatever to me is not a serious car enthusiast.

I have been to a LOT of car shows in ocean city Maryland and Daytona beach fl from 1994 to 2009
each of these car shows now total over 5000 cars !
no most of them are NOT corvettes!
some how I am shocked that some one that loves a corvette would not think that a car lover would love some thing other then his corvette
I truly hope that most of the corvette lovers here would like other cars even a riced out Honda or some other car from a different country
I tell you there is some thing to a bored stroked big block with a blower peeking up out from a pinto hood !
why ?
its jest like we are owning corvettes ..
because we can ...

yea back in 92 I put a 6000$ paint job on my 67 impala ss convertible with a pumped up 73 corvette block that did 375 HP on the rack ....
