Default 2014 engine sound management vs. 2015/16

I have a 2014, it has 2 options. Auto and off. I am pretty sure the 2015's have different settings: Stealth, Tour, Sport and Track?

Does anyone know if these additional settings are available through a SW update?

Thanks

I have not heard of anyone getting it done. If it were available I am sure that someone would have posted about it.. Sorry I could not answer your question.

Pretty sure the Performance exhaust is same from 2014-2016. Front Flap for V4 mode and rear Flap for V8 Sport/Track mode. Not sure how they would be able to alter the sound any differently in 2015/16 than in 2014.

Nope, your wrong 14 will not let you turn on npp, 15 will.

Hmmm ... I just compared 2014 and 2015 owners manual ... The only options I see in both are AUTO or OFF.

On my 2014 Z51 A6, turning it on means turning on the sound management and it's governed by the mode you have it in as well as how spirited you use the throttle. Turning it off, means the outside pipes have the baffles open except when it's in V4 operation. Pulling the selector to manual shift keeps the baffles always open but also keeps it in V8 (V4 not available in manual shift). So if you want to hear the trumpets more often turn it off in the settings.

Easy. There are more than 2 sound modes on the '14 despite the fact that there are only 2 sound settings. In AUTO Mode, the NPP varies automatically for tour/weather, eco, sport and track mode. However, you cannot access track mode sound simply by turning sound management OFF. To enable track mode (sound) without actually being in track mode, you need to pull fuse 41.

A little googling shows there is a difference that is not documented in the 2015 owners manual. The 2015 allows you to leave the valves closed even in Sport and Track mode. The 2014 does not let you do that .. its either Loud in All modes or Loud in only Sport and Track.

UM, they've been "tame" sounding since they have been in existence...GM is very late to the party with the so so NPP exhaust they introduced a few years ago. In my opinion,it's not worth 1200 bucks when there are so many better sounding ones on the market... Don't know if they figure everybody who drives a VETTE is old and doesn't want a loud exhaust or they are just to cheap to ad a little gusto to the sound.... NPP is better then nothing, but not by much..lol. If you want a real kick, take a look at the stock C5 exhaust tips...there's a laugh ....

OP,are you referring to the dial settings?? My 14 3lt has T-E-S-TR....W...

I'm referring to my 16 with NPP.

I don't want to hear what it sounds like driving by me, because no one else is driving it!

I'll try pulling the fuse, because I'm unimpressed with NPP so far, especially for the 1200 it cost me.

I want to hear this bastard from the drivers seat.

I would rather have NPP than the god awful DRONE that many (most) of the after market exhaust systems create. I had a $1200.00 drone device on my C6 and it really made the driving experience SUCK @ certain times. But too each his or her own.

With the 15 in all modes, the exhaust routes through the mufflers until 1700 RPM. In Sport or Track mode they open bypassing the mufflers above 1700 RPM. Going 38 in 4th is where mine open on a level road. Pull fuse 42 and it will be loud all the time in any mode.

I had 42 pulled until I went to LT headers. After LT's I had to replace 42 as going by a LEO on the highway was a major butt-pucker.

I just leave mine in track mode sound management all the time. Then it sounds great in all modes. And I can definitely hear it from the drivers seat.

Since no one else is allowed to drive it ( lol ) maybe you should listen to another C7 go by with their foot in the throttle. 😎
I will admit it's not a super badazz Borja or corsa but if you actually hear it from outside its pretty good. I wouldn't ever change the mufflers since the gains are small. Long tube headers and mid pipe will make the stock mufflers sound awesome and you will still have the ability to tone it down if needed while your on the phone or having a conversation. Now stop being scared and buy something to make it louder !!!!!!!!! 😎😜
