Had my C7 tinted today. Went with 30 up front and 15 on the hatch. Right after the job was done I noticed this anomaly but the tech told me to give it some time to dry and smooth out. I'm not sure that's going to happen. It obviously has to do with the gradient of C7 flags on the rear glass. Most of it seems concentrated in a band across the rear glass, some flags aren't visible too. The gradient appearance is lost.
Please take a look at the pics and tell me what you think, or if anyone has any experience with this issue.
It takes time for the moisture under the vinyl to evaporate, so this may be temporary. The flags are outdented so the vinyl has to conform to the outdents and indents, which takes some time. Park in the sun, wait a week or so and if the problem is still there take it back. My Stingray and Z06 both looked great a week later.

Thank you very much for your response. Did your rear hatch have any of this type of appearance which later cleared up?
Leave the car in the hot sun over the next day. It should shrink out most of what you see. I'll say this where there is a gradient it doesn't always come out perfect. Sometimes there is nothing you can do. But it should shrink out a good amount in the next 24 hours. Hot sun helps a lot.
This is normal with all tint, like stated above park out in sun for 1-2days and it should go away.If not take it back and have them redo it. Looks good other wise.
It will never look perfect, but it will get better and less noticable. It happens with the dots to a lesser degree, and the flags being bigger than dots hold more of the tint off the glass. Park it in the sun, and press the tint to the glass with a squeegie or microfiber towel periodically as the water evaporates over several days in the sun.
I won't tint because my tint guy, who is outstanding, says he cannot guarantee that the tint will be perfect on the rear glass. Those little C7 flags wreak havoc for many tinter's.
Yours look like it may just need to dry in the sun. I hope that is the case.
It may or may not go away. Depends on what kind of film was used. Every manufacturer has different adhesives. Some stick better in the "matrix" areas than others. Leave it outside this weekend. It's supposed to be 110. By Monday you'll have an answer for sure.

Did you have Brian do it or someone else?
Had it done at Eco-tint. The film is Llumar Ceramic.

Same thing happened with mine and it resolved itself in a week or so.
After almost 5 hours in the sun today, I think there has been some improvement but it's not completely gone. Mine looks the same as pics posted of a another guy's C7 on another forum and a third user said his looked the same as well 3 weeks later. It seems there's something about the flags in this particular row that creates this appearance. I don't remember what it looked like before the tint. Does it change colors or do some type of gradation where we are all seeing this strip?
On a side note it was barely warm inside my car, that's a huge benefit of the ceramic film.

At the end of the day. Know body is going to notice it. If anyone notices that they were looking for a reason to hate! And in a week you won't even care about it. The car looks awesome! Rock on!

Yeah I've put this one to rest. It is what it is and now looks acceptable.
Mine did the same thing on 2014/2015 - I got a round rubber ball the size of a baseball and rolled it over the back window area several times a day over the next 3-4 days. It took almost all of mine out... And keep the windows up and let the heat bake it.... I put tape over my buttons for the driver/passenger windows and didn't roll down for 5 days...

Thanks for the tip. Can I see what it looks like now please?
I will send you pictures in the am tomorrow morning. I didn't know this trick on the 2014 and it looked like crap, even after they tried to redo.
I traded the 14 in for 15 and just had it tinted a month ago, I was afraid it was going to turn out the same. Husband said to leave it but I like the dark tint look . It's real important to get on it now while the glue has not dried. The longer you wait - it's going to dry and then there is nothing you can do but pull off.
I actually got my from a pet shop, it glows not that it makes a difference - but it needs to be smooth - no ridges.... I worked that thing that whole evening and the next day - not a lot of pressure, but it's can't hurt anything. Make sure it's rubber - no ridges.
Mine looks about the same as yours. A little less noticeable, but I can still see it. It is fine with me and yes the tint helps with the heat for sure.

Not sure why it won't attach - if you go to my pictures I put in on there for you to see the back window.... Not great picture but you can see it cleared up.. Hope this helps.
