Congrats on the car. That is one sweet looking ride. Enjoy!

I did the engine build 4 weeks ago and I'm doing museum delivery next week (car is currently in slot 9 on rt, Artic white Z). The engine build was incredible, I can't wait until the delivery.

Call me cheap, I enjoyed the museum delivery experience in 2012 for my GS. $495.00 - worth every cent! What's the extra $500.00 about? $995.00 plus - air travel, rental car, hotel ......
$2,000.00 or more. Did it once, having courtesy delivery to texas $450.00.

This was my second R8C. I loved my first one. The second one was followed by the Buyer's Tour so I wasn't really able to take advantage of the VIP tour as there was no way it could compare with the Buyer's Tour and seeing your own car made or being able to get as close to the cars as I did with the VIP tour.

At any rate, my kid really enjoyed it and while we were driving back and meeting some of the other forum members, he was asked what his favorite part of the whole experience was. He said it was the R8C. I asked why and he said because we got to take it home. I guess I never thought of it that way, but it was worth the $ just for him to be able to "take it home".

So, for my 2nd kid, I will have to do the R8C also, even though we won't do the VIP tour (because we would have done the buyer's tour).

Next time I won't order the car on the first order date, I will wait a month as the time to actually get the car is not that much different. There were guys reporting picking their car up less than a week after it came off the line whereas mine was on quality hold for a month. I would much rather fly out one way and wait a week than do a round trip and then an one way.

Nice, I was just there on the 12th. They had all Z06s on the floor. We were on the way back to Utah from NJ. We had a VIP tour and Dave was fantastic.
