I know the dealership, but I will let OP make the decision whether or not to post it in his thread.

My point is: They are a reputable dealer and the vette salesman is a standup guy and has been banging these things out and honoring deals since the first C7 deliveries. They are high volume...

It's now going to be up to the sales director or GM whether to honor, but I will be surprised if they do not honor it after promising to the OP they would.... small loss or not.

Where they get outta jail on that one is that perhaps you agreed on "invoice price" which is a variable number.

So, is it true that in a nutshell, the invoice price went up about 2% for any car not invoiced by July 17?

I was informed by the service manager I would be price protected. He stated since I had a sold order before the 7/17 date and my name and address remain the same. I am price protected. I have an email stating that as well as other information from other dealers.

I'm not going to bash them because I have not been told a take it or leave it scenario. And I hope it will all work out.

Glad it's going to work out for you. Just noticed your location. I spent some memorable years up the road at Fort Polk. Good memories driving down to Lake Charles for good seafood. Take care and enjoy your car!

FYI, Chet -

I made it through the sales dept and finance office today at pre-increase Supplier pricing, as I was promised and without any interference. This was at a relatively-small NC dealer.

I DID, however, possess a copy of the WorkBench order with pre-increase pricing on it, along with emails from the dealership in late July stating that I would be price-protected. So it would've been hard for them to weasel out of that promise, even if they wanted to try.

My Z51 coupe order was submitted on 6/27/15, and I did not alter it after that.

So its clearly doable, and your salesman & sales manager just need to go to work for you and Make it Happen, Capin' . . . .

.

Anyone know what my next step of action would be to take, I know I can contact GM and get a reference number but not sure the right avenue I need to take, as this seems to not be working in my favor and I keep getting delayed from my dealer.

They may be sweating you out hoping you will want the car bad enough to pay the higher price. If you wont' they likely have another customer waiting in the wings who will.

Well they did have over 20 2016s there when I was in the other day. And my car is currently sitting somewhere around the museum with my name plastered on it.

If your dealer has 20 cars on their lot they must sell quite a few Corvettes. I'm surprised they aren't willing to settle for less profit on yours. What is the invoice date for your car?

Not knowing how much deposit you have on the table. Remind them if you walk....they have to transport the car back from the museum.

I don't have much down at all and have not signed anything. I'm just up in arms over this whole thing. And don't understand why it is even an issue when it's pretty obvious these dealers get refunded. 3% is a big deal to me. Can I swallow it yes. Do I want to? No. Should I have to? No

this horror just continues, i requested 3 times my Buyers Order.. received it two days ago and not from the dealership. dealership sent it to my CU and not to me. CU forwarded it to me... with about 500$ in fees tacked on to the agreed 125$ doc. fee. I had a inspection fee, handling fee, inventory fee, transfer fee and license fee ~550 on a museum delivery car. purchased out of state and was told from the dealer my license plate transfer is on my own..SMH

CU/Supplier doc fee was capped by GM at $75.00 under the old program. Ask how much will it cost them to transport it to their dealership when you refuse it.

...I mentioned getting my deposit back. And now it's like the dealership wants to refund me the money.

They will easily make up the cost of transportation fee by selling that car at the dealership.

We will see

The day I placed my order and left a deposit the salesman told me that I was welcome to walk in the front door and ask for deposit back any time I wanted it. He said they would refund my deposit and in my case the only charge would be $75.00 to replace my personalized plaque on the dash. (not very comforting). I am glad that did not happen.

I hope this works out for You. Good Luck.
