My observations on this option leave me a little wanting. It works differently than on my C6 where I was able to turn it to soft or hard....On my C7 it is completely computer controlled based on what mode you have it in E...T...S...or Track.....there are times when I want to hear the Exhaust in Sport Mode and yet want the soft ride....Not Happening with the factory set-up. Has anyone come up with a way to control it separately....
You can control the exhaust sound completely independent of the driving mode. Many leave the exhaust set to "Track" or "Stealth" all the time. By default it links to the driving mode, but it is a configuration item you can change.

The exhaust sound comes on in Sport and Track mode and the MRC stiffens more in Sport than Tour and even MORE in Track....I might want to be in TOUR which gives you a milder ride with the MRC but then you can't open the exhaust....Maybe what I want to do is open and close the exhaust in Tour...
There really is a wealth of information in the owner's manual. Most of it is even accurate.

Geez, your Avatar is confusing the heck out of me. I thought Grandpamoses had forgotten how his car works. (He's been using the same image for a long time.)
Anyway, yes, you can be in Tour with the exhaust set to Track, or in Sport with the exhaust set to Tour. While exhaust is linked to the **** by default, you can change that. In the infotainment screen, push the home button. Then the Settings option, then driving mode, then Engine Sound Management. You'll see that it's set to Auto, which means it is linked to the driving mode ****. If you change it from Auto to one of the other choices, exhaust will remain in the mode you select even as you change the driving mode ****.

I could remember the times I navigated with LORAN A 50 miles off the L.I. coast it was easier than trying to figure out my new C7. In time I will master the C7---in time.

Captain Al
How WELL I remember those days....and when all else failed you looked for the Jones Beach TOWER....
If you have a Z51, then the MRC also changes from soft to hard as you cycle through the PTM settings available in Track mode. So if you want loud exhaust and soft shocks, set PTM to Wet or Dry.
Note this is NOT documented in the owners manual.

You can disconnect the exhaust from the drive mode select.

Wasn't criticizing you. But since the C7 is my first Corvette, I've only seen it on Grandpa's posts. Everytime I see your posts, I think it's him.

I leave my exhaust on Track and drive in Sport in the city and Tour or Eco on the highway.

Is this a new change for a 16' model? In my 14', we have sound management either on 'Off", or "link to drive mode".

New for 2015. But even on the 2014 you can separate the exhaust sound from the drive mode ****. Set ESM to "off" and you get the same as track mode exhaust, regardless of where the **** is set.
As has been said you can set exhaust, and steering, independent of the drive mode. I have my exhaust set to track most of the time, and the steering set to track 100% of the time. By doing this the drive mode is used to control suspension only. You can have your cake and eat it too.
