I purchased the C7 Corvette LED Ambient Footwell Lighting Kit (C7-EXH-1-B) from Southern Car Parts.
The lighting is a HUGE upgrade. Didn't realize how dim just the 1 stock bulb was in each footwell. The white color has a very sophisticated slight blue tint, and looks very futuristic. It does show all dirt on your floormats though!
As much as I like this lighting, I am having difficulties with the LED light strip falling down.
I carefully prepped the area using the alcohol pads.
The adhesive tape it came with was not strong enough to secure it in place.
I also tried using thicker (1") double-side tape, and that only worked for a few days- it's dangling down again.
I'm a bit concerned of the cord and LED light strip falling down while driving and getting tangled with the accelerator or brake.
Has anyone else run into this problem? There's no place to zip-tie the light in. Maybe super glue or some sort of epoxy?
Upon initial installation, I reinforced with regular ole' scotch tape.
Never had an issue with them falling and I've done this mod on 4 personal vehicles and on other Corvettes in my car club.
Get some scotch tape and stick at the ends and a few more times in between.
