I plan on ordering a c7 soon and not interested in the NPP exhaust. I wanted to know if anyone did a muffler delete is there "drone" in the car? Thanks!
Wow! Sounds great! That is the sound I am looking for.... Do you get drone inside the car? Can a local muffler shop do the work or did you go to a performance shop?
I'm surprised that no one makes a muffler delete set-up for the C7 by now. SLP, Mangnaflow, etc., have muffler delete kits available for other vehicles. I'm sure that the AFM valves are the reason, however, Corsa was able to work around it...
Most people who tool on their cars would prefer to just buy the pieces and install themselves. A couple 2' x 2.75" SS piping with Mendel bends and flared ends would be pretty simple.
Include clamps, a selection of a few tips, and charge $400-$500. I'm certain that these would sell. They have for other cars...
Any thoughts on going with the Borla X, or Corsa's Double Helix, which also delete the non-monitoring secondary cats? It would increase flow, as well as volume, and maybe even smooth out the tone a little- particularly with the latter.
You have a nice set-up; in sound, functionality (maintaining the AFM), and appearance with the Corsa tips, but most people, including myself, usually would prefer to not have a muffler shop cutting away at the OEM exhaust.
It's good that you have a trusted shop available, but they tend to be few and far between, which is why I think that having a reputable exhaust company manufacturing a muffler delete kit would be a successful endeavor.

hey guys check out my page to see what it sounds like with Borla X-Pipe Resonators Delete Only everything else stock
Let me know
As I would love Muffler delete system, call vengence racing & tell Ron you one of the C7 guys that want a C7 Muffler Delete system
He is hopefully looking into making this system - a little encouragement
I hear what your saying but lets use logic & reasoning for second
If you use a diff. muffler from a diff. company you may get a signture tone or pitch considering if its chambered or Not, Reflective or Not Etc.
But is you delete all piping & just have absolute straight Pipe - Guess What ?
Thats the full productive sound of that engine in its entirety............So If you straight pipe a New LT1 (Which lets be honest - has NEVER Been done - Yet!!!!!!!!! HINT HINT) or do the same on a LT4 (WHICH WOULD BE THE GREATEST SOUNDING CAR OF ALL TIME -- Unless Chevy came out witha V-10 w/ Big Cylinders Not Like small cyclinder heads like the Vipers Engine & BMW's) then you would get that engines natural unadultarated sound
Point is if you free up the mufflers & resonators then outside of the cats - the mesh like product inside the stock restrictive cats could NOT do anything But ...............Come Alive to its true calling
Beastly
Come on very few cars if many at all sounds like The Vettes Engine - Need I remind you of the Masterpieces LS7, LS9, ETC
Your muffler shop guy did a real nice job, those are some of the cleanest welds I have seen from a muffler shop. May I ask what he charged you for the work? I may have to go this route as I love those Corsa tips!

C7Jake, I am leaning toward going the same route as you. I want a great aggressive sound, but a little worried that it will be too loud. Going to leave everything stock and only do the muffler delete.
