Hi I have a white c7z51 waiting for me in Atlanta. .. excited. ..but
I keep hearing that the c7 z51 is a totally different car from the c6
Many comments of what a difference car it is,,,, so i was wondering
what the differences are between driveing a c6 and a c7 ?
Is there any major difference or is it all minor an in the details?

Electronics are 10 years newer (an eternity in electronics - the C6 came out before there was such a thing as an iPhone), interior materials are much nicer, all C7's have an aluminum frame (much stiffer than the steel frames on the C6). Exterior design is much more exotic to many people (myself included). Others can add to this.

I don't know where to begin. I had a 2005 Z51 coupe before getting my 2015 Z51; the 2015 blows the 2005 in every possible way (and the C6 is a very fine car). The C7 has a much more refined feel. The car just reeks of quality. The interior is light years ahead of that in the C6. The steering, brakes, electronics, you name it, are all superior in the C7.
I had a '09 with the z51 option ( coupe ). I now have a '15 base car with the Z51 suspension kit ( sway bars ). Before I added the sway bars the '15 handled as well as the '09, after adding the Z51 suspension kit it is way better that the C6.
You are going to notice the torque in the lower rpms first and WOW, it is really different when you step on it. Tranny is good and the clutch is a bit touchy at first, but easy to get used to.
Better electronics as whole but the HUD is not as informative as in the C6, no turn signals...but it is way easier to see, at least to me.
The seats are light years ahead of the C6 seats, more support and just feel better. Not everyone agrees with this. I am 5' 9" and about 160 pounds and they really work well for me, I have a 33 1/2" inseam and a 28" waist, not much fat on me, so there may be some adjustment in your seating position.
This is really major to me, rearward visibility sucks, but, again you will adapt to that.
And the other major difference is that you will find yourself just standing and staring at the car, never did that with my C6. Which was a nice car.....but daaayamn the C7 is just so much better looking.
Enjoy your car!
Had a 13 GS Coupe and now the 15 Z51 Coupe. 2004 technology on the 13 compared to latest on the 15. The 13 is a awesome car but the 15 trumped it. From the feel aspect the 13 is rare and the 15 is medium rare. Both will kill you if you do not drive properly. Be safe. Engine response with direct injection is better than throttle body. Road feel in the 15 is more feel also to me.
I remember renting a c6 in California a couple years back and being underwhelmed, felt not much different than a silverado power wise. C7 is different, it's crazy fast, and handles like a champ. (Although I didnt exactly take the C6 through the slalom)
Wow this much information so fast
I ask as many, my brother and wife included , suggested a used c5 or c6 mainly due to cost.. truth be known . as this may be my last new car, I really wanted a NEW STINGRAY.
For me it was a looks thing mostly...
it looks exotic and not just sexy.
So I will keep reading what you guys say and let my brother and the others know. .. the wife? She went for a test ride in one and was sold asap! Me I did not get down on it on my test drive as I knew with in a few moments I would need to learn how to drive my car when I get it . Like being attracted to a fantastic gal then learning she is not jest a great looker but also a great wife!
So thanks to those who wrote in an those who will write their experience with the older corvettes and this new stingray. ...

I went from a 05 to a 2015. Noticeable difference in all areas. Only have a thousand miles on the 15 but still not 100% on shifting the M7 vs M6 especially in 5,6,7 gears. The steering feels too sensitive to me in Touring mode but much better in Sport or Track. Salesman spent about 30 mins instructing me on the features, which 50% I forgot.
I guess I better make sure the dealer does the PDI with me there.
Everything the salesman will tell you is in the manual*, which is linked on this site. Read it, at least twice, before you ever get your car. You'll probably know more than the salesman, and if you read the book first you'll remember more of what the salesman tells you.
*except there doesn't yet seem to be a downloadable manual for the infotainment system. Hopefully there will be before you get your car.
2005,2008-2008-2013 GS X 2 > 2014 STINGRAY COUPE. Headlights are more or less the same as far as visibility. INTERIOR is miles above the c6's. POWER - ehh..I don't really notice a huge difference in the power when I hit the gas Like I did when I got my c6 right after my c5. 436 to 460 isn't a big leap. Then again,I didn't notice much from 400 to 436 either... HUD is very nice.and very different looking. Speedo reminds me of c4 days only better tech. So yea,It's different...but it's supposed to be.I hated it when it came out and gradually came around..Love the car now. OH,and cruising in 4 cylinder mode is a kick!! lol.
