Brake Dust-Not A Problem

Brake Dust-Not A Problem
I've had my 2016 Stingray for a couple of weeks and have almost 500 miles on it. Virtually all of the driving has been around town with limited highway miles. I did a complete detail today including a thorough cleaning of the wheel barrels expecting lots of brake dust. I was surprised to see that there was little or none. Mine is equipped with Magnetic Ride but is not a Z51 car. Because of the relative absence of brake dust, I'm wondering if the base brakes are equipped with ceramic pads? Has anyone with a 2016 experienced the same thing?

Drifting
Non Z51 has a pad that lasts twice as long as the Z51 pad so half the dust.

Burning Brakes
'16 Z51, no dust in 380 miles, but then I hardly use the brakes w/7m 😊
I think the non Z51 has different rotor material. So far I'm very impressed with everything, it's a huge step up from my '11 Grand Sport.

My 2015 Stingray now has close to 2000 miles and with the chrome wheels I have seen very little brake dust. I have a 1LT Non-Z51 C7.
One thing I would highly recommend is a ceramic wheel coating. Any dust will be extremely easy to remove and the ceramic coating seems to repel both brake dust and dirt.

I have a ceramic paint coating applied, a ceramic glass coating and a ceramic wheel coating. All of the ceramic coatings were a DIY detail project.

Yes, the C7 looks wet all the time. It is a spectacular finish I have. I get so many compliments even from other C7 owners.
I have used the Pinnacle Black Diamond Coatings exclusively for the last several years on all of my premium sports cars I own.
1) http://www.autogeek.net/pinnacle-paint-coating.html
This bottle will do about 5 cars.
2) http://www.autogeek.net/diamond-glass-coating.html
This bottle will do about 20 cars...all the glass.
3) http://www.autogeek.net/pinnacle-wheel-coating.html
This bottle will do about 48 wheels or about 12 cars.
All of these premium ceramic coatings can be applied easily as a DIY project. They are all available from CF Vendoe Autogeek.net
I highly recommend and endorse the Pinnacle line of detail products.
Once I applied the Pinnacle Black Label Ceramic Paint Coating, I applied a thin coat of Pinnacle Synergy Wax which is infused with nano ceramic particles into Brazilian carnuba wax.

The Pinnacle Synergy Wax is expensive but creates a great result.
Hope this info helps other C7 owners.

My C6 Z06 had horrible amounts, and my C7 Z51 has about the same, but it's a more red/rusty color than the C6. My base C6 has virtually no dust in comparison.

For those Z51 owners .....try using Sonax to clean the wheels and remove any iron or metal materials from the wheels caused by the brake pads. This product works great.

My base C7's wheels remain clean (appear to) for hundreds of miles. Amazed how few times I actually clean the wheels, currently there is about three hundred miles since I last cleaned them and they still look good. This car, NRB requires less cleanup than my previous Victory Red C6.
