Default Hood alignment help

Out in the garage today, and I noticed that the edge of the passenger side hood closest to the windshield is slightly higher than the adjacent fender. The attached picture shows this small mis-alignment, although it looks really exaggerated in the picture. Also, sorry about the bad quality of the picture. Actually, the edge of the hood may be high by about 1/8". The edge of the hood on the driver's side, same position, is perfectly even with the fender. I opened the hood, and noticed that the rubber bumber on the passenger side is tightened all the way in, and cannot be adjusted (shortened) further. On the driver side, the bumper is 1 1/2 turns out from fully flush.

The seams between the hood and fenders all around look uniform.

Trying to avoid a trip to the dealer...

Does anyone know what I might try to adjust in order to bring down the passenger side edge? There is a metal bracket on the passenger side that the rubber bumber rests upon, but it does not appear adjustable for height.

Thanks,

Ken

Problem isn't that it won't latch on that side, it does...Just not flush with the bumper...

Have you tried lowering the latch on that side?

Twist the rubber bump stop on the hood in a full turn that is the adjustment.

You might have to shave a little rubber off the bumper, then. Or the latch itself could be misaligned.
