I am curious how you did that and where you guys are getting that part.
Because quite frankly I never run my NPP exhaust in anything but track mode, and it would be nice if was louder.
NPP is pretty tame if you ask me, and with NPP the exhaust sounds like a damn camry.
Sure being able to dial the exhaust up or down is cool. Problem for me is I never turn it down.
You are so right.NPP is definitely to quiet for my taste.I had figured with GM coming out with A mild to wild switch the loud would be loud. They didn't give me A choice but to go aftermarket.I'm glad I didn't waste the
Money for it.
NPP sounds magnificent. Plus I love the ability to dial in touring early in the morning, not wake my neighbors up, and then dial in sport to unleash the beast once I leave the garage. That alone makes NPP worth it to me over aftermarket options, it's highly integrated and controllable from the cockpit.
The NPP is the only option I had to have. Worth every penny.
You could go aftermarket like I did on my C5 and C6, but you lose the option to tone it down when desired. The stock exhaust sounds like your grandfather's Caddy.
Will the car pass emission tests with the secondary cats removed? Seems unlikely to me, especially here in CA.
I believe they call them free flow Cats or something like it.
As far as California is anything legal in that state when your talking
Emissions? They seem to have the sky is falling mentality.
I didn't plan to pay for the NPP until I test drove a Stingray, and heard it in action. It's wonderful! It is completely a matter of taste, however. There's no real performance advantage to it (you'll never notice a difference of 5 peak HP.) In addition to the sound, the pipes look way better, too.
Mine came with Z51 package. If it didn't come with Z51 i would pay the money for it.
I have had different cars with tons of different systems. Been around the block.
The tone and volume of the NPP is VERY good for stock. I am not even planning on EVER changing it. Only thing i would ever touch is long tube headers. to pick up more volume.
So I did just this, for this reason but here is what I found. I had a c6 w/out NPP and put on Kooks headers, X pipe and Corsa sport exhaust and LOVED the sound. No drone (M6) and just the right amount of loud.
On the Stingray (M7) I left the NPP alone and put on Kooks headers and X pipe. I should mention both were catted (C6 and C7). The C7 is MUCH louder and it drones from 1500-2500 RPM. I sometimes turn it to Tour mode or shift very quickly to get the valves closed up. Hard to explain the sound better than a drone. My C6 just sounded better IMO and I wonder if it was because there was no NPP and the Corsa exhaust masked what drone there would be (they guarantee no drone on any system). The Stingray sounds great, just a little loud at low RPM's when leaving lights or light acceleration. Anyone else have a similar experience? Don't mean to hijack the thread here at all, thought it may be relevant.
And if it's not loud enough, get a Borla X-pipe and delete the secondary cats. $500 installed.
I did the same thing on my Z06 and the sound is awesome. It shakes the whole house on start up and others have complimented me on the sound. At 2,500 rpm the exhaust is plenty loud and just continues to get louder from there. You really don't need the Borla mufflers if you put the catless x-pipe on & it is way cheaper.
If you get the Z51 package you get the NPP, if you get a standard Corvette order it. It is nicely integrated into the cars electronics. Loud when you want it loud and quiet when you want to sneak out of the neighborhood. Sum it up in two words. GET IT!
i didn't order the NPP because i knew i was putting on a corsa xtreme as soon as i hit 500 miles. I love the corsa xtreme and double helix!! I can't wait for ARH mid length headers to perfect the sound!!!

I feel the same way as you.I didn't go Corsa.I'm going full length headers
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
