I purchased a used 2014 LT3. During the test drive the car veered hard right under braking and pulled slightly during normal drive. The dealer attempted to align for 2 days then stated their machine would not calibrate and finally took it to a Goodyear tire store whereby they did the alignment. Although it seems much better it still pulls to the right enough I have to hold it back with slight left on steering. On braking it is much better but still has some pull to the right. I also noticed it is less pronounced at Eco mode and Tour mode than Sport and Track. I have an appointment to take it back to the dealership (Lawton, OK) but curious why the dealership couldn't align the vehicle and what might be causing the issue? The vehicle has 4,400 miles on it. Thanks.
Sounds like it has been hit...I assume the carfax was clean?
The carfax was clean. The gentleman who owned it is local, the dealership knew the car. No indications of malicious background on the car I know of.
Thanks
Well it could be a right front brake caliper not opening all the way and dragging therefore making the car pull...
Could be a bad tire to where the tire checks out good on balancing but for whatever reason just makes the car pull...
Id also would say take it to another shop and have them try the alignment...sometimes the alignments are only as good as the guy performing the task, but you already did that.
Going back and re-reading your post...something is probably bent somewhere...the dealer should have been able to calibrate/align that car no problem...its too new for it to be pulling and its too new for the dealer not to be able to get the alignment right...a nasty pot hole or a curb can wreak havoc/bend components and neither of these will show up on car fax or in the previous owners recollection. Given this car has a-arms on all four corners, if something is bent it may not necessarily be the right front.
Oh yeah, did the dealer say WHY they couldn't get the alignment right? That is a huge red flag...
You have a brake problem, its on the side where the car pulls to. Nothing to do with alignment. Pull the right wheel and look for a leaking caliper or a hung up pad.

A brake caliper could be the problem, but it could be a lot of things. I had so much difficulty getting consistent satisfaction from alignment shops that I learned how do it myself using strings and tape measures. One thing that I don't recall seeing any shop check is ride height, and that can cause pulling.
So, you're going to let them put the alignment all wonky to correct the problem? You'll probably never get the handling performance or tire life you should with it set like that.
I suspect they're trying to avoid replacing a defective electronic steering assembly that would cost them a lot of money.

the electronic steering centering is possibably the problem. Have allignment verified on all four wheels, if everything is in tolerances suspect steering issue.
Greenwalts pulling problem occurs on BRAKING not at normal highway driving. Its points to a brake component problem on the right side.
Sorry I didn't clarify that very well. The car does pull to the right at highway speeds, enough to have to hold it left. As I change modes to stiffen the ride (S/Tr), the pull is more pronounced. Thanks for your help.

There was a thread on this very subject a while back... I bought my car brand new in February, 2014 and it pulled to the right from day one. Took it back in for an alignment issue 3 different times and it never was corrected. I bought a new set of wheels and tires and the problem went away. I suspected it was a bad tire all along, but, never could prove it.
If it is the wheels/tires, all that is needed is to swap the fronts and see if the pull goes the other way. If so, wheels/tires. If it still pulls to the right then the tire issue can be eliminated.
