Do you experience the limits of the C7
Do you experience the limits of the C7? A lot of guys get them for mid life crisis or because they are a very sharp looking car or because they love the power and handling of the Corvette. I probably have hit the limits of both covettes I have had. Have hit the top speed of the car and have really banked it as well but I'm also am more of a driver then a racer so 95% of the time I am not hammering on the car.
On my C6 I added somewhere around 50-60 Hp and the car was very fast, along with lowering it and adding the upgraded sway bars the car handled like it was on rails. I felt like I took it to the limits as far as low and high speed cornering but I bet there was way more there.
Just a quik poll to see where guys are at with there cars, Certainly I love all corvettes and all guys with all kinda attitudes about them and maybe thinks its a little bit of a waste for a guy to never experience the car's capabilities but to each there own, regards, paul

If it is a waste if folks don't experience the limits of a C7 Corvette, then I would wager a guess that at least 95% of C7 owners are wasting their time and money owning their car. Hell, they should just trade the car in for a Prisus or some such car. And do it weekend while the trading is good!
Yes, I am being a tad sarcastic. This is because well over 50% of Corvette owners never take their car to the track, and the track is the only place to experience the limits of a C7. But that is no reason not to enjoy all that the C7 has to offer. Furthermore, I seriously doubt if ALMOST anyone on this forum, maybe even including the OP, has the ability to take a C7 properly to it's limits, and I am not talking about hitting top speed on a straight-a-way. Folks that can hit all limits properly and consistently usually do it for a living.

Poor choices
I think of myself as a pretty serious driver when I want to be, but anyone who really is pushing the limits on the street is a moron. Most of the time I'm just enjoying it, and not pushing hard, but sometimes, on the right road, I do. But never at the absolute limit. That's what racetracks are for.

Hard to push it to it's limits at 25-35 MPH.There is A 55 MPH but have to drive A few miles to get there.Could try the back roads but hitting A deer at 80-90 I would hate to see my stingray.

good responses and I agree totally with both. Most of the time I have the cruise set if that answers how hard I drive it "most" of the time. But not to at least sometime experience the power of the car is a lot like taking Viagra daily even if you don't have sex,,,, Alright maybe that's a bad example,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, lol

Like to drive it hard and on the right roads really push triple digits. But not quite foolish enough to push it to the limits on the street.

After experiencing Spring Mountain Motor Resort and seeing what the pro drivers can do with the C7 it quickly became obvious to me that I'm not capable of pushing this car to its' limits. The only limits I can push are my own.
I'm also old enough to know that pushing limits on the street is just stupid and irresponsible. Track days make more sense.

I agree. Track days make total sense. Violating traffic laws on any public roads, particularly pushing triple digits and street racing are truly stupid and irresponsible. Glad to see some rational people posting on this thread.

I chose the first answer.
"I just drive my car and love it for what it is"
What it is, is a great car (sports car, but can compete righteously on the track), which is capable of doing more than I am, but occasionally, I can safely take it right up there.
I DD mine, which means I'm having much more fun on every single drive than 99% of the others on the road. When the opportunity to leave the unwashed masses in the rearview mirror occurs, that's the cake! When someone comes up to me and tells me they love the car, too, that's just the icing.

That poll is missing a category that should read "Likes to explore its power and cornering but is not reckless". Where I live it is too congested and unsafe to really explore the limits of this car. But evening drives where the roads are twisty and empty? Love those g forces! Hard acceleration up to 80? Offramps at 50? You bet. Frankly, with some common sense with timing and location these are not unsafe and you can really feel the car do what it was designed for. Violating laws in and of itself means nothing as many are written for revenue purposes only. But triple digit speeds? Maybe on midwestern highways, but where I live that would be dangerous. I never did the street race thing, so can't comment on that but mixing "roll" racing with other cars on the highway seems like a recipe for trouble.

I drive mine as much as I can. Taking it auto crossing and to tracks on occasion provide a fun and safer environment.
Some will and some won't. Id venture to say that all will enjoy it be it for its potential or its realized capabilities.

Without question the C7 is a AWESOME sports car. Some will never fully experience what it can do....I am in that group....However, on a rural highway with no traffic....If only for a short distance.....I'm Mario Andretti.

I've never had it on a track... not sure I ever will.... so the answer is no.
It's crazy to do much of anything on public roads....
There is a fairly protected stretch of road close by that allows triple digits, but only briefly.

I forgot about violating traffic laws on public roads, no more triple digits or speeding in my Corvette.

Questar, I don't think anyone was saying to drive your car to the limit on the street. I live in Vegas and drive Spring Mt, Willow and the speedways in Vegas and Cali.
There is nothing wrong with sitting in a lawn chair behind your car sipping coffee on a Saturday morning. I do think it is a waste to buy a Z-51 or Z-06 and not learn to drive it and push yourself to your personal limit
