Default Am I missing a screw?

The dealer has tried to elimate my roof panel creaking by adjusting the tension on the rear latch on the panel. I had the roof panel off recently and think the dealer may not have replaced a screw when he was adjusting the latch. Should have taken a pic, but it's a threaded hole facing the back of the car, right behind the hook part of the latch on the roof panel. It looks like it could be for a set screw for the hook. BTW, does anyone know how to adjust the tension for the back latch? Looks like it should be easy but wasn't able to figure it out.

To adjust the rear latch, there is a set screw you have to loosen. Then you turn the hook. Once you have the hook where you want it, tighten the set screw back down.

Here's a pic of the roof panel rear latch. Am I missing a set screw in the threaded hole in the middle of the pic? The dealer adjusted the tension on this latch and I think they forgot to reinstall the set screw.

Yes, the dealer left out the set screw. The screw has an Allen Type set screw. I am surprised they missed replacing it or they left it so loose it may have vibrated out of the threads.

It needs to be replaced.

Make the dealer install a new set screw.

The tech probably dropped it and could not find it and did not have the time to order a new one so he just left it out hoping you would not discover it.

The sets crew should be three, but if it's like mine, it won't make a difference. The hook portion requires quite an amount of torque to turn it. Even with the set screw missing, the hook portion won't be going anywhere.
