What is the difference in interior appearance and quality on a 2016 Sting Ray between the 2LT and 3LT if the interior is black, competition seats with suede inserts?
The 3LT, I believe, has real leather on the dash, the 2LT a very good imitation of leather. But even the real leather has plastic coating on it. And the 3LT has suede on some panels. There's a post, either here on on the "other" forum, where someone compared the two. I'd have a hard time justifying the cost of the 3LT, especially in all black.
Hard to tell the difference visually but nasally-the 3LT reeks of leather smell while not so much in the 2LT-is this worth the $ to you-only you can decide.
The 3LT will have real leather on Dash, door panels and center console. All Competition seat Upholstery is the same 1LT, 2LT, 3LT ... so there will be no difference in the seat upholstery if you order Competition seats in a 1LT, 2LT or 3LT. Actually .. you are downgrading the seat leather when you order a 3LT with Competition Seats because they are made out of 2LT materials.
I just went to the dealer to check this out. I wasn't buying new, but instead deciding what center console cover to get with the new stingray embroidery. I have a 2LT car, but figured I might get the 3LT cover since the price is the same. I went with the 2LT to match better.
The leather on a 3LT is very smooth while the leather on the 2LT is more realistic with a little pebble look and feel to it. The 3LT is software than the 2LT when you push it into the seats. The 3LT also had better looking stitching.
I've heard that the 2LT is more rugged and lasts better over the long term, but that might be rumor. The 3LT guys here will comment on how their car looks at 20k or 30k miles.
