I've read on here it's attached with clips but that it's almost impossible to get off without breaking some or most of them. I've never tried it though.

it is attached with clips. The safest way to remove it would be to take the nose off and work on it from the back. I can see a lot of clips breaking if attempted from the front.

Not sure what you're looking for but don't see this mentioned often, there is a thin real carbon carbon fiber cover that exactly matches the chrome shape. Uses plastic epoxy to attach.
