Default PDR Problem

Hello out there to everyone in Corvette land. My PDR when selected from the home screen just goes black. It did work previously with no problems. Everything else on the home screen display works. So I just took it to the dealer and they are saying that they have to remove the entire dashboard and steering column just to troubleshoot on weather the problem is a bad connection or a short in the harness wires. The cable runs the length of the dashboard. Is this BS or is this for real?

Has no one had this problem? Does any one have a contact number for a technical rep.
I can't believe I bought an $80,000 car and the dealer has to pull the dash and steering column just to diagnose it.

Same thing happened to me. I reformatted the SD-Card, everything back to normal.

I can try that. Did you have a completely black display when you selected the PDR icon?

I would sure try a new SD-Card before I let them rip the dash out, as dosamp above suggested.

No luck. Same thing. I am going to try a new SD card just in case.

I did before the PDR stopped working. I believe it said disk space is full.

Your problem is exactly the same as what I had. They said the fix was replacing the PDR screen, which they did and it is perfect now. Apparently, the connections in the screen assy. go bad.

And yes, I tried all the other things to try first to no avail.

Good luck......worked for me.

Well after a while at the dealer my PDR is finally fixed. The dashboard and steering column were removed to check the harness behind. That wasn't it so the module was replaced. That wasn't it so the display was replaced. Bingo! I tried to get them to replace the display first but the factory rep required them to troubleshoot in this order. Some things are just harder to accomplish than others.

Thanks for the follow through! If it happens to me, it's nice to have a heads up of what might have to be done. Glad it's working for you!

I'm working through this very problem now... Went to the dealer and they replaced the radio.. . With the new radio the PDR still doesn't work. . I plan to take her back in on Tuesday so they can keep troubleshooting.

When you are on a factory tour and see how he dash board is assembled it is amazing there are not more problems after seeing how they are put together. I went through the same situation on a 2014 and the mechanic did a pretty good job putting the dash board back together.
