Got the new parts put on , so far so good, made sure I drove a couple of bumpy roads and it was quiet. Trouble is the first roof striker and pins were quiet until a few thousand miles of wear as well, now it is just about time to store the car for the winter so I guess it will be next summer to know for sure this fix worked.

Got the repair today with Corvette Tech, Kevin McDevitt at DePaula Chevrolet in Albany, NY. I cannot say enough good things about Kevin.
No more creaky roof, he had said it would not take the noise away completely, but boy, it is 1000% better.
Also had my Mobil 1 oil change (9.3 quarts added, a quart given to me) AND a surprise: Kevin put on a MOBIL 1 oil cap!
NYS Inspection.
All FREE of charge.
Oh, and parts for this TSB were readily available.

If the new parts installed don't fix my roof then I know how to fix it.
As I mentioned before sliding some rubber between where the strikers bind together will stop it. I did this a month or so ago and stopped it completely, did a 600 mile trip , not a bit of noise. I used bicycle tire inner tube, cut about 3/4" long and 1/2" wide, as I pulled the handle to close the striker together I slipped in the rubber between the two pieces. It stops them from slipping when you hit bumps, this is how the noise is generated.
I tried the 0 rings , lubricating everything , tightening the back latch, none of that worked, the inner tube worked perfectly. Hopefully next summer when I start putting more miles on it there will be no need to do this though with the new parts now installed. Time will tell.

Just picked mine up yesterday, as well! Tech said he could not believe how loud the creaking was... and that was on a cloudy/cool 50 degree day. I told him he should have been riding around with me when it was in the 90's and the roof sounded like it was about to break in half!
Good News: I haven't heard any sound at all coming from the newly retrofitted roof fix. I hope that continues. I did note on the service report that they stated the roof was also "out of alignment", which they corrected (after two tries, says the report). I wonder if that alignment issue amplified the loud creaking I'd been experiencing in addition to the old pins and strikers.
Good News: They also replaced the Center A/C vent (as per GM tech bulletin), which had also been rattling. Tech said again that he could not believe how loud it was. He also confirmed the replacement vent cover was a different/better design, before installing. Installed now and quiet.
Bad News: They applied the PDR updgrade, but I've since confirmed that it did not "take" and the picture quality remains poor (and audio recording remains in Valet mode).
Bad News: The high-pitched metallic "buzzing" I've been hearing in the passenger door handle for months remains... even though they say they "fixed" it. Went back for a ride with the tech and the sound immediately revealed itself again. He said they may have to order an entire new door panel... Great!

There was even a TSB for the top noise back in 2006 or so.....obviously did not work.

Had this service bulletin completed on my 14' yesterday and the creeks and cracks went away but.........
The dealer tech broke the screw covers on the visor clips and scratched the heck out of my black roof. All will be taken care of by the dealer of course but just be aware to check the work when they are done. The service tech did point out the broken clips and informed me they had ordered them but I didn't notice the scratches until I returned home.
Looking back I wonder if it was worth the extra damage for a noise fix .

Ericherm1 Don't count on that top remaining silent. Once you remove the top a few times the creaking will be back. Been there done that.
Bavaria Call your dealer and ask about the TSB regarding your car by vin number. On here you are just getting someones opinion.

Post-TSB Roof Striker Re-adjustment
I had this fix done and some of the noise came back after a couple of weeks. The problem seems to be that the strikers need to be carefully adjusted such that the latch handle tip really snaps into the striker. Attached is the procedure for getting to and adjusting the strikers.
