I recently bought a 2016 C7 and while driving it the other day I noticed that it looked like the hood had a small bump on it near where the driver side hood and fender met. I was driving about 90 miles and the sun was shining on it and was pretty visible the entire way. When I finally stopped I ran my hand over it and didn't feel anything out of the norm and when I got back in the car it looked like it went away.. could be that the sun in a different stop.
Anyhow when I got back home I did a quick detail on the area and under certain light conditions and from the driver's seat you can see the pimple/ bump. Is this something I can take to the dealer and ask them to fix it? I know the hood is carbon fiber and shouldn't have dented when I closed it, so it would appear to be a defect in either the paint or the hood itself. I didn't notice it when I first bought the car but that could have been because it was later in the day and I was super excited about it. Anyone else have something similar on their C7?

If in fact it is a defect, it should be covered under your warranty.
Quick update for those that are interested. Finally had time to take the car in. The dealership attempted to color sand it and while it did make it look better under certain lighting, it was still pretty noticeable. Seeing how it was bugging me they agreed to fix it.
A GM adviser took a look at it and determined that a new hood is required. Once the hood is in they will paint it and blend the fenders. Don't see why they can't just get a pre-painted on from the factory but I digress.
I'm hopefully that it turns out well other. I'm glad I have a warranty that's for sure!

FYI - I had to have my front passenger fender replaced. The dealer ordered a factory painted one and the color match was perfect (even the orange peel!)

If you had to look that hard to see a small flaw in the paint, I think I would have left it alone rather than trying to match a new hood to the paint... Hope you do not end up with a worse problem...
My 2014 has a few blotches in the color that show up only under direct sunlight, but not worth trying to repaint.

I have a couple of them on the front bumper, I brought it to the dealer and they claimed it was rock chips. I gave up on them doing anything as it was not worth getting into a Ps--ing match with them over. I would not hold my breath for a dealer to do anything as many new Vettes have this stuff. Do a forum search for "orange peel."

Very happy to hear they will take care of it under warranty, as they should. If it was me I would talk to the service manager to find out why he can't order a factory painted hood.
