I got my GS creations fitted black out covers and they totally changed the way my car looks. I love it. As you can see they fit perfectly and are not just a flat cover, def worth the price.

Those are awesome but no way I can justify nearly $400 for those. They originally sold for $179 and have climbed dramatically in price since then.
i agree. I've been trying to determine if its just greedy *** businessmen trying to get the highest corvette tax imaginable. Or maybe they got in over their head with costs and have to make it up. Or they can't possibly make enough of them so they jack up the price for those wanting to be the few that can get them
Whatever it is, i'd rather take mine off the car and use tint shade and clear coat them myself... $15 tops and a fun winter project
While I really enjoy all the mods and personalized details we all add and share on our C7's, I'm often left wondering why so many are on a mission to "Black-Out" any and all exterior aspects of these cars that are not already black and/or the native paint color of the car.
Don't get me wrong... I'm not saying I don't like (or do like) it... I'm just wondering where this trend comes from, as it's quite interesting to me.
Bottom Line... Do to YOUR car what makes YOU happy!

Interesting question. As you might know during times of war and/or conflict between nations, both Art, Film, and other visually perspective media tends become dark and foreboding. Look at the art, film, and fashion during WWI, WWII, NAM, etc. It is always very dark and sad. Today we are dealing with multiple conflicts which has engrained itself in our media and art, and now reflected in how some of us mod our cars to some degree. I could go on and on about this but I think you get the point..'Murdered out' vehicles are intended to look like military OPS vehicles, hence the connection. IMO
I have them on mine as well and agree that they look awesome as I was skeptical they'd look like a cheap plastic stick on. The only issue I've had is my one to the far right of the vehicle doesn't fit as perfectly as the other 3. I've even taken it off and replaced the clear double sided tape and re-installed and it still doesn't fit as perfectly as the others.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
