Default Professional Radar Detector install

Looking for professional installer in the Tampa Bay Area.
C7 Z06....want to hide wire on V1. I don't want to do this myself.
Worried about removing parts then getting any rattles. Car is perfect no rattles !
Any suggestions on best way to hide power cord. I've looked at Blendmount....not sure about tapping into mirror power.....but would be the best way. Anyone used Blendmount.

I had the blendmount on my G.S. 13 and it was worth every penny. I just got home with my 16 but I already have the blend mount purchased and mirror tap for it. There are some really good posts on getting the mirror tap installed on the forum.
I did the one on the 13 I think the 16 might be more challenging but don't know yet.
I bought the Passport Max 2 from the manufacturer as they matched the best price I found on Ebay. I like the updates you can download on all the traffic camera and other info.

I installed a V1 in my C7 with a Blendmount and a Mirrortap in about 20 minutes following the directions on this forum. Very easy.

Blendmount with mirror tap is the best set-up. Have it on my 2015 and it is the ideal way to go.

Passport max2 with Blendmount & mirror tap, 20 minutes easy install. I didn't think about it before I did it the first time, but I drilled a hole in the cover for the mirror tap, otherwise it goes out the top and the cover doesn't quite snug up, or at least mine didn't. You could also notch the top a little bit to accommodate the wire.

I just pre ordered the Passport Max 360. I bought the Blendmount with mirror tap and plant to install it myself. From what I have read, the install is relatively easy.
Pop a cover off, install tap, replace cover, mount blendmount, install radar.

Here is a good post with pics about a radar install. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...n-2015-c7.html

I don't know if he goes as far as Tampa, but you can call Don McCallister (407) 592-3160. He only does high end cars at your house. He is not cheap. But did my wife's MB.

But as the others have said, it is easy to do yourself. I recommend the Blendmount and their cord.

Here's a link with some photos on installing the mirrortap I posted a while back. Very easy to do.

the Blendmount is THE WAY to go....and if nothing else, you can go to the blendmount site and they have a DEALER/INSTALLER LOCATOR. you may find one close to you that way. Its what I did, and they had the Mirror Tap as well, it didn't take them long, but I didn't want to attempt it myself.

EDIT: SORRY....I went to their site and used their locator..... NO GO, I went out as far as Orlando and they didn't any. At least any they are in their data base as Certified Installers

Blendmount is $129.00. This mount, a copy of the Blendmount, is $35.00 with free shipping.

I have had both the Blendmount and this one. They are very similar. Only real difference is the $100.00 you save!

Or, you can get both the mount and mirror power cord for $46 with free shipping here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mirror-Mount...BWGEOW&vxp=mtr

This company makes a mirror mount for all brands of radar detectors. They are top quality...no rattles, vibration, etc. They are made of aluminum.

Has the difficulty with the Passport Max (and I assume Max2) when mounted with the Blendmount of getting intermittent GPS signals been resolved? Blendmount came out with a longer arm to move the detector forward but some folks said they still had intermittent GPS signals. Still see Escort website states the Blendmount they resell is NOT for Passport Max or Passport Max2.
I mounted my Passport Max in October 2013 in my C7 (more than a year before a Blendmount was offered) and use the supplied "sticky mount" as high as possible on the windshield to the right of the mirror. It has worked fine but I added a thin braided stainless wire tether (made from a light fishing leader) since it has let loose several times when the car was hot and parked facing the sun! Tether keeps it from hitting the dash! Other than that it works great.

I had an Escort 9500 with laser jammers installed. The shop installed the control in my armrest console and the meter in the lighter on the console. You have to flip up the lighter to see the meter. All of the wires are hidden, the jammers fit into the grill and you cant even see them. The GPS device is under the bumper. The unit works great and gives me updates on my phone of speed traps. Awesome unit and works great but not cheap. If you are interested I can send pics if you go that route.

I think he's looking for a true stealth setup. A friend's Porsche 911 has it all built into the car. The radar's reading comes up in the rear mirror itself (has a mini display built into the top right corner of it) and the actual sensors are installed into the bumpers.

Personally, this is the route I'd go. I find windows down, loud exhaust, even the Passport 9500ix is hard to hear. I'd rather it pipe the warning sounds through the car speakers and it all being internally wired into the car.

My install is a stealth setup, you would not even know its there and the Escort can be tied into your speakers and I believe they may have the mirror option.

If you have not met the guys at AUTO XTC in St Pete, you should get to know them. They are the only ones I would let near my vette when I lived in Tampa Bay area...they did all my work.
