My brother-in-law sent me a link to a prototype electric Vette based on the C6Z.
It's www.cleantechnica.com and the story is written by Zachary Shahan and concerns a Maryland Co. called Genovation and the GXE that may produce 700+HPand hit 200+MPH.
Thought some of you might find it interesting. I couldn't find anything on the CF search so if this is a dupe, pass on it.

Electric motors have come a long way. But the problem is usually the BATTERY. Corvette drivers love their throttle and as such, would quickly kill a battery. Now if you were to add two small electric motors to each front wheel, that hybrid will amount to an AWD Corvette... and imagine the "torque vectoring" that can be accomplished with that!
The GXE is based on a 2006 Z06 Corvette,” Genovation notes. “The car will have a range of 150 miles during normal driving operation and will have a near 50/50 weight distribution while being optimized for a low center of gravity.”
Yes, as I said in the post, they used a C6 as for the body. Probably couldn't get a C7. If you believe this belongs to the C6 section, please do so. I just thought the concept was interesting and hadn't seen it on the CF before.

Actually, your post is not clear at all about what generation it is. Take a closer look.
I can see in the very near future a hybrid motor being an option for a model of the Corvette, but it will take many years to eliminate the internal combustion engine Corvette. I do know the General has been working on such a motor over the past several years, but still a few years off. But standby you will be hearing more and more about this....
