Default Rolling Issue

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced a "Rolling " issue w/the C7 manual 7-speed stick. The car rolled, while in gear & e-brake on, ever so slowly. Its happen twice & has caused cosmetic damage. I took it to the dealer & they tested it on decline. Sure enough, it "Rolled" every so slowly, but still rolled. I've since taken back again & they say the problem is fixed. GM paid for the damage, but I just want to know am I the only one this has happened to?

My manual has never done that, parked on inclines with ebrake only, no rolling. I hope they fixed it for you!

I don't have a manual, but with the e-brake on and the car in gear it won't move even if I push on the gas. I think I'd have to give it quite a bit of throttle to get it to move.

The brake should hold it even if it is not in gear....
Also, you might try parking it in a lower gear...

Something is weird. Obviously the parking brake doesn't work properly on the OP's car, but I can park mine on an incline in 1st gear without the parking brake enabled and it isn't going anywhere.

Hey, thanks you guys/gals......I appreciate all of your responses. They say the problem has been corrected & I have not had it "Roll" since getting it back from dealer.

It would be interesting to find out what the problem was that they fixed.

I don't have that problem, but I would like to know too.

I use the electronic brake all the time on an incline at stop lights to prevent roll-back into those knuckleheads that pull up inches behind you!!

TNSQUIRE, What was happening is the dash display was say "SERVICE REAR AXLE"...then, when I put on the e-brake it would lock up the rear end & the car wouldn't even start. I thought it was going to have to towed to the dealer. Given the fact she's so lowered, I had concerns for getting her onto a flatbed. Well, low & behold, the e-brake finally disengaged & it started. Dropped it off at the dealers & when I picked it up, the dash display was cleared of the "SERVICE REAR AXLE." Since getting it back, I've not had any further issue w/it? Go figure

I know what you mean about folks pulling right behind you, especially w/a 7-speed stick. I, myself let the car roll back & forth on "Stopped Inclines" I balance the clutch & gas pedal just so the driver behind knows that I have a stick & not get to close.

I had this happen with my C6 and all I remember is that they fixed or adjusted the parking brake so it held firmer.

That's a fairly significant piece of information missing from the original post. Curios what they found as the actual underlying problem???

Yep, I hear ya. I worry about that extra wear & tear on the clutch though, hence the reason I use the EPB so much on those inclines and interested in what caused the failure with yours.

I love this forum and the info we get on things like this and if we experience the same problem, we're one step ahead when we bring it in for service!! Thanks for posting!!

This is where hill start assist comes into use.

Yes, it appears that the problem has been appropriately addressed. I've had no further issues, thus far?

Absolutely, this community has helped me right out of the gate. It's nice to hear from the individual w/the C6, who experienced this same situation.
