Default Remote Start question?

2015 C7,A8,Z51. When I use remote start car starts fine. Upon getting into car with the key fob AC is blowing on high, lights are on and for several long seconds the trans shifter remains locked in Park position and will not let me shift into Drive. Yes my foot was on the brake when I tried to shift from (P) to (D). Don't understand why shifter remains locked at all once I am in car with Fob and foot on brake. Have not been able to to find a settings adjustment to personalize remote start function. Maybe I am doing something wrong? Any thoughts?

I have a manual and can't comment directly, but on my volt (and nissan) you can't put the car in drive until you press the start button.

the remote start's function is to cool/heat the interior before you get in. You have to press the start button to engage it from remote start to drive away mode.

I have to push the start button on mine after using remote start. All the memory presets then adjust as normal.

Yep, you have to keep your foot on the brake and press the start button again. Then everything will operate. Good luck!

When remote starting, your A/C will be set to where you had it when you turned it off, and you can set the seat controls to vent or heat during remote start. Make sure only one option is set to on, or neither will work. The rear defogger may activate if the conditions warrant. No dash indicator lights will light until the start button is depressed. Seats and rear defogger will turn off when the start button is pushed.

Hope this helps.

OP, pressing the start button again as you guys informed was the key. I could not get it through my dummy box to press the start button again once the car was already running. Thank you!

Pressing the start button and brake after remote start is a security precaution measure that will potentially keep a thief from stealing the car before you get to it as they won't have the fob in their possession.

I have the GM romote start in my new chevy Trax the only things working is the heater and radio until I put the key in and turn it.

Some action is required to let the car know someone is in the car.

on every car with remote start, you have to press the brake and push the start button (if equipped) just as if your car is off. This is to prevent thieves from getting in while you are in your house (just one example) and driving off without the fob (or key)
