Oil filter comparison

I have several UPF44 filters left over from my C5 ownership. My C7 calls for a PF64 filter. Question: Are these filters interchangeable? They appear to be identical structurally and mechanically(threads, gasket diameter, shell size, etc). Can I safely use a UPH44 on my C7?

Believe they are almost the same but yours doesn't have the bypass valve like the correct PF64 has

And that is why GM changed the bolt thread pitch between the 44/46 series and the 48 series as the 48 series includes an integral pressure relieve device that was no longer included in the newer engine block architectures.
