Default Battery maintainer

My car is not a garage queen, but also not a DD. I use the maintainer
religiously and have a question.
I plugged it in last week after a road trip, and have not driven it since then. The whole time it has been de-sulfating continuously. Is that
normal. I would have expected the cycle to be completed by now.

Thanks.

You should be seeing two steady green lights by now.

Depends on the unit. On mine, if the green light is flashing, that means the battery is desulfating and it can stay in that mode continuously without concern.....

In order to answer your question effectively you would have to provide the brand name and model of the battery maintainer.

Is it a Deltran Battery Tender, CTEK US3300, Schumacher, etc?

The LED's on these maintainers differ so it is hard to tell from the post what is what.

Perhaps you can provide that information. I am well versed on the CTEK brand and models.

As far as I know, there are at least a couple of different "designs" of the Ctek 3300. The one I got from a CF vendor IS the 3300 but seemingly has more buttons. Every time I disconnect it and turn it off, it has to be reset, or it sits on amber which means connected but not doing anything. This may not be your case. I do know of one other person who didn't know that both lites on amber mean it's connected but doing nothing else.

AORoads:

You are correct.

Both chargers are CTEK 3300 4 stage/step chargers. The Corvette logo CTEK is slightly different as it is missing several LED's on the bottom row.

The Corvette logo US3300 charger simply shows the car icon.

The Non-Corvette CTEK 3300 has a few more features that show's a motorcycle mode icon, the car mode icon, the cold weather icon, and recondition icon.

The top rows of both the Corvette logo US3300 and the Non-Corvette 3300 are the same.

All led's on the top row will move from one position to the other thru the charging process. When the US3300 is charging the middle LED will show Amber. When fully charged the LED to the right on the top row, will go Green.

On the non-Corvette 3300 if the charger is unplugged from a power source, you will have to reset the unit back to the car mode on the bottom.

This is the only difference between the two units.

If anyone is considering buying the CTEK brand unit, I suggest the MUS 4.3...8 stage/step charger. It is much easier to see the steps of the charging process and in some cases can be bought via any major on-line seller like Amazon near the 3300 CTEK price. The MUS4.3 provides better information and increases the charging to 8 steps vs 4 steps. The CTEK MUS4.3 will also charge and maintain an AGM battery.

I have attached the Corvette logo US3300 image, the regular CTEK3300 sold without the Corvette logo and the MUS4....8 step maintainer/charger so you can visually see the difference between the 3 units.

If purchasing the Non-Corvette CTEK charger, CTEK sells a cord that is a quick connect and has the cigarette adapter so the unit can be plugged into the rear hatch outlet. The cost $12.86 at Amazon.
