Default Google maps via Bluetooth?

I once had Google maps send directions through Bluetooth to give me audio directions through the speakers from my Samsung galaxy s5 phone, but it hasn't worked for sometime, the phone is silent so I know it's attempting to audio though Bluetooth but there's no audible. I tried updating my phone software and checked all the boxes and settings etc but nothing, anyone else having this problem, does maps work on your car? I'm hoping to figure this out. Thx

Try starting Google maps before you get in the car, where you actually here the app speak and start the directions. I had the same problem with my iPhone when I took a trip out west. I believe it is a known problem if you google it.

There's no known problem other than the problem between the driver's seat and the screen. Basically you need to have the phone's bluetooth connected to the car and the car set to play whatever is coming in via Bluetooth to the car's speakers. If you have that going then be sure to not mute voice turn by turn from Google Maps.

I think this is the way I got it to work once, it doesn't work anymore though.

Of course I did all the obvious connecting to bluetooth, making sure it's not muted etc. Phone works, Pandora works but Google maps has no sound. Guess I'll need to visit the service dept. And have them try it. I do have navigation, but sometimes it fails where google maps can figure it out so it's something that bothers me that it doesn't work.

Had the same problem with my Cadillac. There is an option on Google Maps that makes it send the directions thru BlueTooth. There is also an option to use the Directions thru BlueTooth like a phone call.

Haven't played with it to determine if this is a permanent option or must be set each time.
