Default Hello from Massdrop

Hey everyone,

My name is Lukas and I’m the Buyer for our new Corvette community at Massdrop. Massdrop is a private community-curated marketplace for enthusiasts. My role is to to advocate on your behalf to source and organize group buys for the products you guys most desire.

We currently organize group buys for 12 communities ranging from Audiophile to Men’s Style and have recently added Corvettes. I was previously the buyer for our Everyday Carry community, and since I am Massdrop’s resident gearhead, I got tapped to launch Corvettes.

I’ve been a car guy since I was about 12 years old and grew up watching the Powerblock on Spike TV with shows like Horsepower TV, Trucks, and Xtreme 4x4 as my childhood education. I learned a lot from my first car, a 1991 Mazda Rx7, which I promptly crashed and had to figure out how to fix. I’ve been an active member in the Audi community for over 5 years now and I’m a moderator on AudiForums, where I’ve written numerous DIY articles over the years on maintaining and upgrading my car.

I love the space that forums like this provide for knowledge sharing. I’ve been doing a bunch of research over the past 2 months and hope to learn even more from you all here on CorvetteForum. I’m still saving up for my own Corvette, so I don’t have a ton of hands-on knowledge, but I just got back from SEMA, where most of the manufacturers and vendors I spoke with were excited about what we’re doing. I’m also excited to launch this community and can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.

I’d like to maintain an open dialogue with you guys, so feel free to ask me any questions and I’ll do the same as I continue to learn here. To get things started: what are the top products that you’d like to see group buys for? Have you been waiting around for a sale on a certain item?

Glad to be here, let me know your thoughts in the thread.

Here's a link to our Corvette splash page: Massdrop Corvette Community

Welcome. Group buy guru, interesting. Maybe throw out a couple of ideas you've done group buys on as examples.

Thanks Rooster! Glad to be here.

You can see all of our live (and past) group buys on our website. The actual Corvette group buys should start next week.

Here's a link to our splash page where you can subscribe to the community, that way you'll get notified when our first Corvette group buys go live.

What products would you like to see group buys for?

Guy's and gal's on this forum are usually asking about wheels, splitters, skirts, and wide body kits for exteriors. Steering wheels, armrests, carpets, and audio are the interior inquiries. I signed up. Looking forward to seeing your offers. Good luck.

I signed up... we'll see how it goes.

I'm NOT interested in getting a thousand emails for any Corvette product ever sold so please don't send my info to Amazon and Google and everyone else.

If, when the Corvette area goes live, I have an option to get notices about specific generations (C5, or C6, or C7) that would be fantastic.

Good luck.

I've been using Massdrop for a few years and you won't get spammed. The only emails I get are when something I voted in gets offered as a "drop", weekly new items that have come online, or a couple that indicate when an item is close to closing that is similar to something I wanted, of course.... when a drop you joined closes and again for shipping information.

You can opt out of all emails in the profile settings page.

I will warn you now, it can become addicting when you browse the categories (communities)

jbondfl, we don't sell or distribute our member's information to anyone. Rest assured the only emails you'll get are from us, and as HalfMoon mentioned below, you can choose to limit which emails you receive.

I like your idea about being able to limit emails to one particular generation, it's definitely something we can look into as the community grows larger.

Thanks for your support!

That's awesome, EDC was the community I helped run before starting up the Corvette community. I miss getting my hands on all the knife and flashlight samples as they arrive, but the large Corvette sample boxes that have been arriving are even more exciting.

Hey Rooster,

I just replied in the other thread, but this is something we can look into sourcing for sure. Thanks for the heads up!
