Default I think a lot of people buy cars they can't afford

I've been reviewing the "C7 Corvette For Sale" Forum and it stuck me how many C7s are for sale, many with very low miles. The thought occurred that many people buy these cars but really can't afford them so they are forced to sell them in a relatively short time.

I wondered the average age of these sellers? I bet they are under 35 years of age.

Well, from my experience every new hot car has this happen.

I am sure many people buy the cars and the monthly payments soon become reality. A $65,000+ car financed in most cases will demand a high monthly payment that soon becomes overwhelming to make.

There are a lot of used cars for sale... for various reasons, and yes, I'm sure affordability is one of them, but this is not indigenous to Corvettes.

Very true.

Also some of them are the "gotta have the most current" people that upgrade all the time. Most of those trade in, but some put the effort to sell themselves.

Then there is the bought a 2014 Stingray in 2013/14 then the Z06 comes out and they want one of those instead.

many reasons - how about this - they didn't like it. Just the truth - Longevity for this price is insane given the problems reported - my self I buy cash but don't question others decisions - it is a personal decision to buy or sell and I cannot know what they feel, nor can anyone else - gay post

They may also not be happy with them for some reason. They may also have had the excitement wear off and now they are on to something else. The next new thing to be seen in.

I know of wealthy people who like to buy cars, then sell them that same year. Just keep getting new cars.

Or the guy that bought the 2015 Z and the 2016 Z came out with front cameras, self shuting rear hatch, etc, and now waiting to see what the 2017 Z comes out with before I decide. 16 or 17?

I purchased my C7 in September and honestly I am already bored with it. I will probably sell it and get something else in the spring.

I often see low mile used Vettes at the Cadillac and Jaguar dealers here in Sarasota. A salesman told me that many are from older guys who realize they can't get in and out easily.

Agree! One of the criteria for selling a 2014-15 is to purchase a 2016 or to upgrade models.

You're all wrong, the OP is right. Clearly anyone under 35 cannot afford this car. Once you hit 36 though, game on.

I thought most of the cars for sale were due to people with too much money upgrading to a z06.
