Default Order Progress

The lady on ChevyChat said my order "...has been accepted, but there is no Target Production Week scheduled...". Does this mean I've moved from Event Status Code 1100 to 2000?

Your selling dealer should keep on top of this for you. Make them earn your money.

Congrats on making some progress - hopefully you'll get a TPW soon.

Thanks. 50 years ago, the U.S. Navy taught me to hurry-up and wait. I can still do it.

I was told the exact same thing by Chevy chat, that my order was "accepted". That in of itself doesn't tell us much.

Then I asked them what is my event code. They said 1100.

To find out what your event code is, you need to specifically ask Chevy chat (or your dealer) for it, otherwise they don't offer up a number.

Chevy Chat doesn't have the most timely up to date info. Your dealer will have access to more current data. Kerbeck lists the status of all of their customer orders online and updates usually at least once per week if not more. I would ask your salesman to email you a weekly update if they do not have an online system.

The word "accepted" is totally misused by Chevy Chat. They frequently use that term when the order is at 1100. Either get the status code from Chevy Chat or GET IT FROM YOUR DEALER. Seriously, your dealer should provide this information for you. They can pull it at any time and it will be more up-to-date than Chevy Chat.

Tell your dealer that your Purchase Survey will depend on how well you are kept informed of your order progress as well as the rest of the buying experience.

You folks are right. I specifically asked for the event code this time and found out I was still stuck at 1100. Been there since I ordered on Nov. 9. I'll be asking the dealer from now on but with the holidays, I may as well wait until after January 1

Does your order contain any items that are on constraint, i.e. painted roof, Z51, etc? If it does this could be a reason it has not been scheduled for production. This is assuming your dealer actually has an allocation. You need to confirm this with your salesperson or perhaps with the new car sales manager. Good luck.

Though I am not your selling dealer, I would be happy to assist.

Please email me your order number and I will let you know what I can see on your order.

I have verified with him that he has the allocation. I'm guessing, as you mentioned, that my ordering the Z 51 and a painted roof, not to mention upcoming holidays, have put the kibosh on things.

Not sure where you're at location wise. I ordered through forum vendor Ken Fichtner in Billings, MT two weeks ago, late on Thursday afternoon. By last Friday my order was at 3300 with a confirmed TPW of 07 Dec. You need to find a different dealer that has an allocation for what you are wanting built. The one you are with is screwing you around. Just my .02

Mikey:

Did you order it with the Z 51 package and/or a painted roof? I'm getting a little suspicious of my dealer now.

At the time, Ken had allocations for both. He was very up front about availability. I deferred on the Z51 but did go with the dual painted top option. I would strongly suggest giving Ken a call. He took my deposit over the phone and the order went in that same afternoon. He constantly emails pdf copies of the dealer workbench updates he gets from GM. This way I can print and save them in a file I've set up for all paperwork related to this purchase. He will do the same with the original dealer order so you can make changes if you wish to. He does it the way most dealers should do it but sadly fall way short.

Called the dealer. He said he definitely had a Stingray allocation but not one for a Z 51 and/or painted roof and is waiting for GM on this.

Ahhhhhh The truth comes out finally. Sadly not what you wanted to hear. He may be waiting a long time on those two options unless he is a high volume Corvette seller.

Ignorance used to be bliss. I didn't start reading this forum until after I ordered my car. As a result, I canned one dealer who was REALLY giving me the runaround. My current dealer is much larger, but apparently not large enough to have big pull with GM. Now that you folks wised me up, I am seeing the error of my ways. I didn't have to order the last new car I bought and life was much simpler. I wish I had a clue as to what a PITA this was going to be before I got started with it.
