Startron. Use it in all my gasoline engines. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, small engines, boats, etc. Especially good for storing vehicles for long periods such as winter storage for your C7 or boat. Never had a fuel related problem in any engine if used. http://www.starbrite.com/item/star-t...ategory_id=503
As long as you use top tier, fuel additives in a can aren’t needed, and in fact, can even cause a bit of harm. There is such a thing as too much detergent. The detergent itself leaves a teeny bit of residue behind, so once you have the gasoline-related deposits clean (and top tier does this), all you get by adding more detergent is a teeny bit more detergent residue.
C5 and C6 Vettes are prone to fuel sender failures and some have cured those failures with heavy doses of Techron. That’s probably the logic behind people like HAD2HAV2 using it twice a year, as a preventive measure against fuel gauge failure. I don’t know if that’s effective as a preventive, but using it twice a year wouldn’t be a problem from detergent residue. Supposedly Chevy made improvements to the gauges with the C7, but it’s too early to tell whether it’s been cured.
Adding stabilizer in storage is cheap insurance against the possibility you were unlucky and got a last tank of gas with dissolved water. That's rare, and usually you can store over the winter just fine without stabilizer. But if you're unlucky and get a tank with dissolved water and then the temperature drops over the winter, a water layer will separate unless you've used stabilizer. If the gas in your area has ethanol, be sure not to use an IPA-base stabilizer like SeaFoam. It will not prevent water separation if ethanol is present.

I'm a firm believer in using Techron Concentrate Plus. I was buying ethanol free 91 octane for my supercharged Mercedes from a non Top Tier station and I was getting a CEL(lean banks). Dumped in a bottle of Techron and 150 miles later, CEL off. I continued to use the same gas station and the CEL reappeared later on. Another bottle of Techron and the CEL turned off. I now only use Top Tier gasoline in that car plus a bottle of Techron every 3,000 miles, or so.
Techron also took care of the fuel tank sender problems on my C5.
I have only I used Top Tier ethanol free 93 octane gas in my C6 Z06 since new with no problems, but I do add bottle of Techron once a year.
I read somewhere that the GM fuel additive is a relabeled bottle of Techron.
I picked up a couple of 10 oz bottles of Techron at Walmart last week for $4.97 each. I noticed that the bottle was good for up to 15 gallons of gas. I believe that it use to be 1 oz of Techron for each gallon of gas. Possible that the current Techron is more concentrated than the older Techron.
Hello and Merry Christmas !
Does anyone use fuel additives for their ride?

I just added 20 oz of the GM part number suggested in the Owner's Manual (GM part #88861013, Google or put # in Amazon, you can buy at a discount.). Note the instructions on the bottle of the GM additive say to add to a near empty tank at a gas station, then fill up the tank. Helps mix it in the gas. It's only recommended to use it at each oil change. I added it because of issues raised about the tank fuel pump and sender being harmed by excess sulfur in some gasoline that is not Top Tier, which this additive is reported to remove. Thought it also would be of help keeping injectors clean.
It is probably the same as Techron, which some gasoline contains, making them Top Tier (but used the GM part # since Owner's Manual says only use it!) If it's noting other than Techron, you can buy it for less cost. Anyone know for sure? Techron is patented by Chevron and their website has a good explanation and pics of how it bonds to contaminants like sulfur and removes them.
