Default Waxing

Do you wax the bottom black piece on the rear of the vehicle?

I do. I do not know a reason why you would not.

I treat it like the rest of the painted surfaces. *wash, clay bar, polish, seal, wax*

It's paint. Treat it like you do the rest of the painted surfaces.

I am glad they did it in a painted surface, rather than the way the C5 and C6 rear trims.

I don't wax anything on the car. I use Liquid Glass Polish on the paint, plastic trim, windows (except for the windshield), headlights/taillights, transparent top, and wheels.

Sure do. I complete the cleaning of the whole car (and use Zaino if I'm going to use any 'wax' on it) and then do the harder to reach areas like the bottom of the back end when I put it up on my stacker (like many, I store my C7 on a lift so I can stack a couple of cars) as I can do a better job and save my back at the same time. While many of these areas 'don't really show', I know they're there.

Also glad they used decals on the calipers.

Ok what is that? And why is it better than wax?
Thanks!

I used to use Liquid Glass a long time ago. I remember it goes on and off very easy.. Smells like toothpaste... Shines beautifully.. And lasts about 1/3 the amount of time that Meguairs Carnuba Wax lasts...

Well maybe you should try using it again. The formula has been improved continuously over the years. It lasts longer than anything I have ever used.

I have used Liquid Glass on my DD and it is a very good product. It is one of my favorites along with Klasse AIO. Just ordered another 16 oz. can from Amazon at less than $22.

The rear of the C5 is painted the same as the rest of the body. It is all one color.

Haven't waxed anything since I got my '08 C6! For the C7 purchased October 2013 I started using Zaino from day one. A friends C6 who parked next to mine at work, always looked better and he swore by Zaino.
Thought now that I was retired I would use it as well. However rather than the old mix the amount to be used with their accelerator, after washing and claying (something I never did before) I use Zaino Z5 pro polish straight out of the bottle followed imediatly by Zaino CS (clear seal.). The Clear Seal goes on in 5 minutes with no removal or buffing. Apply and let dry! In fact for my black wheels, CF side skirts, CF splitter and that rear black panel I now just use the Clear Seal.
There are other more elaborate products and proceedures that work fine and if showing the car, perhaps are even better but I like this simple approach for my DD.
