Default Velcro engine caps....

Hope I'm in the right place. Q: I was looking for things to chrome on the engine and one of the items was a 5 piece cap set with the stingray logo. I found them on numerous sites but all of them had velcro attachments that fit onto the existing caps. One of the people I spoke with said they have to be taken off before unscrewing the original cap. Another person said you don't have to because the velcro is strong enough to turn the cap with them installed. If anyone has purchased them I would be grateful for your input before I spend $150.00 for caps that I don't want. And if anyone knows where I can purchase caps that don't have to be attached with velcro that would be appreciated. So far I haven't been able to find a vendor selling one piece chrome caps. TIA, Paul.BTW it's a 2015 Stingray and I love it!!!!

I purchased a set of caps from RPI Designs. I have a wet sump engine, (non Z-51). The velcro holds well for me on all serviceable caps without removing cap. The oil cap has a foam insert so cap can still be turned and removed. Just my experience and I'm happy with mine.

Default Show caps

I assume that you will be using these for show only. I have the set and just lay them on top of each part and when I am done with the show I just take them off the engine parts and put them in their box for the next show.

Paul,

I'm one of the early adapters. Here are mine-I keep them on 24/7 with velcro....no problems.

Mine are on 24/7 except when I take it in for service. I don't want the techs messing with them.
