Default Driving Mode

When I go to settings > Driving Mode > I have no option to turn off Engine Sound Management. All I have available is to select Engine Sound Management (check mark there by default) or put a check in Tour, Sport, Track, etc. It is a 2016 Corvette Stingray.
Also regardless of what mode I am in the gauge themes don't change. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Define "Gage Themes" and are you trying to go for louder and quiet exhaust sound.

If you are looking for something on your dash (gages) to read differently....they will not. You pick the sound (stealth, touring, track) you want in the "Info Center" and your set.

Does that help?

Thanks. I'll check that out. I have to leave for an appointment right now so it may be tomorrow before I can let you know how that went.

By the way. It is the sound I want. As in when you start it up is sounds like the Track or Sport mode. I want the sound of the pipes wide open.

Leave it in Sport and it will be loud.

Set the Engine Sound Management to Track for what you want. Realize, however, that there will still be times when the NPP exhaust values close (assuming you have the NPP exhaust). If you don't have NPP, the sound settings will do nothing. If you do have NPP and want the valves open ALL the time, you'll have to pull a fuse.

The dash theme is adjusted in the DIC settings, not the infotainment screen.

The DIC display changes when you change the Driver Mode using the Driver Mode control located on the console near the shift lever. If the display does not change, you need to Link the IP gauges to Driver Mode by following the instructions in this thread: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-selector.html

I thought that someone here said a 16 is not like a 13 in that you have to pull a fuse to have track sound all the time?
I did the settings like above day one and I " think " it is loud all the time.
I know if I tell it I want to romp it gets very loud when I shift down a gear or two!

Thanks for all the links and suggestions. I was getting the Mylink interface and the Driver Information Center (DIC) confused. Now I have a better understanding of how to access the menus in each and make adjustments.

What is DIC and how do you do this? I want my dash display always in Track mode regardless of my drive mode. Can I do this?

Of course, read the manual and then ask what you dont understand here

Remember, you can youtube things like "corvette dash settings", etc and youll find what you need.

Take the manual, get a beer , and go sit in the car and punch every friggin button you can. It's easy .....certainly easier than my iPhone/watch

On the steering wheel on the right side controls hit the left button and you will have a vertical listing of choices-information, phone, performance, etc. toggle down to settings and then toggle through until you get to display mode and select the display you want.

The manual sucks. And you sound like my dad, he wouldn't even take a new VCR out of the box until he read the entire manual. I'm from a different generation I guess

Follow this link and it explains and shows you in detail. The key here is to select "Link To Drive Mode" and you will get different looks on dash display according to the mode you are driving in.

Heck, My Stingray is the one and only car owners manual I have ever read. I read it cover to cover before while my car was on order.

I also after I got the car, sat in the drive and played with every button for an hour or more with a big glass of Bourbon learning how everything worked and getting settings exactly like I wanted. No manual used this time.

Ouch. Man its rough around here isn't it...

And no, I'm from the generation where we expect UIs to be intuitive enough that you don't need to read a book to figure out how to use it. The C7s UI is fair, but I'm sure most would agree it is not (nor is any car) up to the standard set by Apple or Android.

I asked one very specific question about how to do something with my car figuring this was the proper venue and that someone might be able to share their knowledge with me and help. Which they did. And I thanked him for that and am very appreciative for his tips (corgidog1).

Not to be a troll, but you do need to study your manual.

I have a 2015 2LT Z51 A8 with Navigation. Pretty sure yours will be the same. I have set the instrument display to always be in the sport mode. (you can choose to link it to driving mode, or not. Same goes for exhaust, and steering) I have my exhaust set to always be in track mode, and steering to always be in the sport mode.

With my settings, the only things that change with changes in driving mode are everything else, i.e. Throttle and Brake Response, transmission shift points, suspension setting, stability control, and differential response.

With the instrument display set in sport mode (or any other mode), you still have a multitude of options in driver information display (small display in center of tachometer). Those you change with the controls on right side of steering wheel. You can also configure the "pocket gauges" on either side of the Tach. I show oil temp and pressure.

I ordered my 2015 in May 2014 and didn't get it until October 23rd, so I had lots of time to study the manual. Still quite a lot of learning to do once you get behind the wheel. Good Luck.

In this case I did read the manual and it stated for Engine Sound Management you had the option to turn it on or off like you have with the 2015 model. You don't have that option with the 2016. You can leave it at the default where it adjusts to your driving mode, or you can select Track, stealth, sport, and tour, whereby the pipes will sound appropriate per you selection. Again, no on or off option as stated in the manual.
I presume that when they move from one model year to the next they "try" to update the manual but some items are missed.

Actually, the 2015 is the same as the 2016. The "off" option was only there on 2014. But this question has been answered on the forum about 100 times.
