I've been rear ended twice in the past 3 years on the way home from work. Both took place within a mile of each other, both occurred on the 5 South in Irvine, CA and both times I was hit by a young, careless male not paying attention to traffic. First kid was apologetic and respectful, second wanted to leave the scene, never apologized for slamming in to me or asked if I was OK and he looked disoriented. Luckily, both times I was in my dd Mini Cooper.
This made me stop and think while deciding to buy my 2014 C7 as my new dd - then I handed the check over. I figured I've collected my share of collisions for a while so wth.

Years ago I was rear ended in my wife's Pontiac. The idiot had been following to close for several miles. As luck would have it, I had to stop briskly behind a motorcycle that suddenly went sideways (I was keeping a safe distance as I worried about the idiot less than a foot behind me). After the car behind buried itself in my rear bumper, the driver told the officer he rear ended my car because he had "sneezed"....
More famous last words - that's what insurance is for.
And that's why I bought a used '14 Stingray and not a new Z06. I won't feel nearly as bad if this one gets damaged. I refuse to go through life not driving a fun car that I spend 20k miles a year in just because of the possibility of another accident. I'm not that jaded.

Oh, and "Sneezy" did get a ticket....
Crap, when we drove through the Carolinas in October, it seemed everyone was a NASCAR driver needing to draft. This included a Tractor dead-heading. Last I heard, those things don't stop well.
Anyway, I am sorry for the owner of this nice AW having his ride ruined like that,

I was dead stopped on the 210 fwy in San Dimas CA when I truck, doing about 65 mph rear ended me. He didn't even brake.
Luckily I was stopped about 40 feet behind the guy in front of me. The impact completed destroyed my car and knocked it into the car directly in front of me.
I keep my eyes peeled now when ever I have to stopped in some unexpected place or manner. Once was enough for me.

Even if the car is repairable who the hell's going to buy with that much of a hit on Carfax especially when there will be dozens of others for the same price without a hit on it. Owner should go after the other person's insurance company for diminished value, he just lost at least 5k.
I would not surprise if the person who rear ended him/her was texting. I consistently check my rear view mirror and see people constantly looking down texting. It's become an epidemic.

Oh, THAT'S what they are doing. I was convinced that the pussified millennial boys were constantly checking to see if their weenies were still attached.
Prolly my car, Dealer testing the re build on the transmission. and don't you think for one second I don't think of that every day its not in my garage.

I have just started getting in another lane when possible saying let him go rear end someone else.
Sometimes it seems that they are close and realize that I don't have a rear seat and it makes them seem closer. An awful lot of people I have noticed stop behind you at a stop light and if you had another coat of paint there would have been contact
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
