How much does the dealer pay for a key FOB?
Wondering if anyone here happens to know how much a dealer pays for a key FOB? I don't mean the 20% shop discount, I mean how much does the Chevrolet Dealership actually pay General Motors for one.
Reason I ask is because the C7 I bought only came with one key, and I couldn't get them to pay the cost for a second key, they would only agree to sell me a second key for their cost. Not really fair because I gave them 2 keys for the C6 I traded in But it was the best offer I could get out of them.
I made them put it on the "We Owe" so I do have it in writing that they have to sell me this key for their cost, but now they've given me the cost and I'm not sure I believe them. The price they gave me is $150. What do you think?

If this was a new C7 you go screwed. Even if it was used your dealer is a cheapskate.

When I bought mine they couldn't find the second key, they just give me one and told me to buy another one and they will give me the money back.
I did bought one at the parts department, paid $220 sales department gave me the money back (cash).
Like 2 months later they sent me the key that was lost, now I have 3 keys!!
Happy with the dealer support, IMOP your dealer screwed you over 👎🏻👎🏻

Especially since I gave them 2 keys on the C6 I traded. I wonder if I could have just kept my C6 key, if that could be programmed to the C7? Or are they different?

New, I would demand a new fob. Used, this is a gray area because had the dealer just ordered a new fob ahead of time it would have been rolled into the cost of the car and you would ultimately end up paying for it anyhow. Our dealership's policy is 2 fobs with every used Corvette.
As to your question. $150 is pretty accurate if they are included a fob and the mechanical key.

If the dealership won't do that for you. Don't expect any better service in the future. Screw them.

Does anyone know if this key will work on my 2014 Manual 7 speed?
This FOB has the remote start button which I don't care about, and I don't think is an option on my car. I just want it to be able to open & lock the doors and hatch...

That's for an automatic. I'm not sure if it'll work or not. There were a few in the for sale section here, have you checked that?

So far as I know there's 4 models
1.- Automatic coupe
2.- Automatic convertible
3.- Manual coupe
4.- Manual convertible
Don't know if yours is Coupe/Convertible
Anyways I was told at my dealer that I need the one specific for my car and the key needs to be cut according the VIN #
On a side note a few members had been saying that some keys from eBay don't work properly. I'm not saying this specific will not.

Thanks for the tips.. I am aware that the mechanical key has to be cut by GM according to the VIN, so I'm not worried about that. I just need it as an emergency spare so as long as it electronically locks / unlocks doors and trunk thats all I really need...

I also see that the list price on a fob is $157 and they sell it for about $125 and they are obviously not selling it at or below their cost.
I'm not sure if that comes with the metal key, but it didn't indicate it did or did not. Then who knows if they want to charge you to program it or they would do it for free.
My last used car I bought the salesman (or dealer?) stepped up and did provide me with 2 fobs and keys. (not a corvette) I also didn't cut him down to making nothing on the deal but made it fair for both of us. So I probably paid for it, since I could have haggled over another few hundred bucks , but they threw in the extra fob.

Looking on Cultrag parts page, I am seeing only 2 different part numbers, with or without remote start.
