Default Changing An Order

Originally I ordered a new 2016 LT1 with the Z 51 package. It has sat at 1100 for the last month. Between the fact that there are constraints on the Z 51 and the fact that it's hard to justify a track package I'll never use, I had the dealer delete the Z 51 and change the LT 1 to LT 2. Question is whether that means that I start all over again as though it's a brand new order or will I still be in the"cue" despite the order change?

At 1100 you never had an order with GM, so it was just the dealer changing it on his own before he submitted it.

If you were previously at 1100, you weren't really "in the queue" anyway, as far as Chevrolet is concerned. Removing the constrained items may move you up to 2000 status, which is when Chevrolet has accepted the order and the countdown officially begins. But that is also governed by the Dealerships' allocation. If they have few (or no) allocations, it may not speed your order up any regardless of removing the constrained items. Understanding the Dealer's allocation amount is something you should determine as soon as possible.

Instead of changing your order, change your dealer. Go to a large volume Corvette dealer that has no problem getting allocations, even for the items on constraint. Quite a few of our supporting dealers fall into that category.

Z51 ain't 'xactly a track package. Would you rather have fancier dash and front camera or go faster and stop quicker.

I think you changed your order from a 1LT to a 2LT

This has been suggested to the o/p numerous times in other threads of his going back to early November. Why he resists doing so is beyond me.

For one thing, I have a trade-in. For the other, driving 1300 miles to trade and then drive back is not possible for me at the current time.

I am sensing that the OP really wants to use his original dealer and is having trouble cutting the strings. At some point he needs to give the dealer an ultimatum and then take appropriate action.

I know a trade can complicate the deal but surely there is a used car dealer close by that would be interested in buying his trade unless it is not a nice car. In my area you can get offers online using Autotrader.

Wrong, oh great sensor. I'm with the second dealer now after having canned the original one.

But you are apparently still at a low volume Corvette dealer that can't get you what you want. Where are you located (no location in your profile)? You don't want to travel 1300 miles, but there are forum dealers scattered across the country.

I'm in Kansas. Actually, my question regarding changing the order has been pretty well answered. I really appreciate the many suggestions to move to another dealer but the 200 miles he is from me is as far as I can deal with currently. I am willing to give him more time, especially with the holidays and GM closures. I was just concerned that this would set me back but apparently still being at 1100 is meaningless at this point anyhow.

Turn the trade in now, dealer cuts you a check. Then order from a larger forum dealer, and request a drop ship to local dealer for a courtesy delivery.

Depending on where you are in Kansas, you may be within 200 miles of Reliable Chevrolet in Springfield, MO. They are a forum dealer. Contact Wes Milby. Phone number: 866-782-4389 ext 427 or 417-299-1957 cell. I bought mine from him.
