Default Dealer problems

I am going to buy a vette soon.

None of the dealers near me have the specific corvette I want (Torch red with black wheels)

Is it possible for me to have the dealer order the car and have it delivered? How do I do it?

Sit down with a salesman at your local Chevrolet dealer.

Yes, order the car with your specs and the dealer will order the car for you and when it is ready the factory in Bowling Green will deliver that car to your dealer who will call you to pick it up. You will need to pay for the car or have financing available at that time. That's the basics. However not all dealers have the ability to order a vette immediately (they need an allocation) and you may have to wait till they do which could be months.

However if you deal with a large dealer they probably have more allocations available and you will get the car sooner.

Not all dealers charge the same price so shop around and dealers do negotiate. Large dealers who advertise on this forum will get you up to 12% off MSRP.

If this is all new to you, bring a friend who has experience.

One or more of the forum supporting dealers probably has what you want in stock, or can order one for you. I search through the forum dealers inventories online every day.

Usually you can get a better deal on an in stock car. Which transmission do you want?

If your dealer is a low volume dealer of corvettes, you might try ordering from a dealer who sells a high volume of corvettes. Low volume usually means low allocations and a long wait for the car you order. As mentioned, look over the forum sponsored dealers to see if they have a car already in stock or they can order one for you. If you have a car to trade in, try to sell it your self or try CARMAX, they usually pay fair prices for your car.

I would give MacMulkin Chev in NH a call. Their number should be listed here on the forum, or email.

You can buy the EXACT car you want from them, and at a major discount. Just get a 'courtesy delivery' to a dealer near your location. The car then goes from the factory to your dealer, bypassing NH altogether.

I ordered mine from them in early Oct and had the car here in late Nov at a discount of about $8K! No added fees from MacMulkin, and only a $350 fee for the courtesy delivery.

Good luck, and I hope you end up as happy as the rest of us!
