Default Getting concerned-A8 issues?

Used my C7 today to run some errands. Beautiful sunny day with temps in the mid 50s. I noted several rough 1-2 shifts and a couple very rough jolts when putting the car in D. Car just turned over 3200 miles. I hadn't planned to visit a dealer before my first oil change which won't be due until probably June or July. Advice?

Took delivery on 7/26/15 from Criswell. I try to drive it at least once a week.

Heh ...... That may be the problem. I bought my '15 A8 from Criswell back in March. It had a little over 8 k when I sold it so I could order the '16. For some reason, I've noticed that the ones driven the most seem to have the fewest shifting issues. Just my .02

I had the same issue. I only have about 600 mi on the car. I wasn't driving it enough for the transmission to get my pattern. I took it to the dealer and they ran the car thru a process on the road that force learns the 1-2 shift in the transmission. All fixed now.

How long does it take and how many miles do they put on the car?

I have about 3200 miles as well on mine.
A few strange hard shifts here and there, but probably nothing to be concerned about yet.

Google 14-07-30-001A and try it yourself.

I had some 1-2 and 2-1 shift weirdness at around 500 miles (I was taking it pretty easy the first 4-500 miles) and doing the C4 and C3 procedure it seems to be cleared up for the last 500 miles. A bit of a pain to find roads to do it but beats taking it to the dealer.

Thanks. I'm retired and have plenty of time and we have some good roads so I will definitely give it a try.

Just closely read the procedures, especially the abbreviated coast down so learning for C3 can be enabled.

Worth a shot before taking it in.

Noticed it takes a second more cold and did the reflash. Cause seems to be allowing the torque converter to fill with fluid. Possible fix may be on the way. Just drive easy the first mile or so then enjoy the acceleration.

My C7 A8 Z51 is 4 most old and has 1K miles on it. After cold start I give C7 a couple mins to get the juices flowing before drive off. Take time to adjust radio etc. Have been doing that for years with all my cars and trucks. I drive the car like there is an egg under my gas peddle until the temps warm to. I know that is over the top and un-necessary but old habits die hard. Not saying anything I have done has changed a thing but my A8 shifts smooth as glass. Kinda got on it the other day from stop. Went through four trans shifts and had to back off due to traffic. Again smooth as glass and enjoy this car a great deal. Much fun to drive.

Since you bought the C7 at Criswell, call Mike Furman and get his opinion on the problem. The car is under full warranty so you have nothing to be concerned about.

My C7 wont shift out of any gear unless I do it manually. Even if I try the shift paddles behind thr steering wheel it still holds the gear unless I shift it manually. How do I engage the auto mode?

I have been reading quite A bit on here with the A8.It seems there are problems with the jolt
With the shifting.1-2. Or 2-1.Some say it's A software issue.Supposely the dealer can take care of it.It reminds me of the automatics that had shift kits put in.They would shift hard on
Purpose.
I have an M7.I believe if I had an A8 I would like it to shift hard and fast.

Thanks for the SB number. I looked it up and will try it over the weekend -- really appreciate it -- tom

that's why it doesn't bother me---- mine feels really powerful when it does that....seems intentional, like it knows my preferred driving style.
