Around town the speeds are slower therefore less likely to have rocks, gravel thrown from other vehicles. Bugs are not a concern for me. I use Adams products; wax, H20, detail spray, for bugs.
On the highway with the higher speeds, rocks and debris are my concern. Had an SUV throw up a peice of shredded tire that caught the lower part of my front bumper. The steel belts in the chunk cut through the paint. A quick trip to the auto body shop fixed the damage. So I got the bra to help protect against another incident. It may not protect it completely but it will lessen the damage.
That is a sinking feeling when something like that happens to your favorite toy. I've been there. I always try to stay as far behind the car in front of me and exponentially farther as the speed increases. It helps but no fool proof. I'm sure you do likewise.

Especially in my area. Road clean up crews aren't exactly gung ho.
