Aftermarket Black Spoiler advice for 2016 Torch Red Coupe
Yesterday I traded in my 2014 White Corvette Base Convertible with A6 & Flowmaster exhaust for a 2016 Torch Red Base Coupe with A8 & NPP.
Actually, the coupe is still on the truck and I will have it in a few days after it gets prepped and all that, but the paperwork is done and I am Vetteless for a few days.
Back on point, the Convertible appealed to me without a spoiler, but the Coupes I like with a Z51 or similar type spoiler, but not body color, I like the spoiler to be black.
What color black spoiler do people with Torch Red coupes order, gloss black or matte black?
I think it looks like gloss black in the pics I have seen, but I don't want to make a mistake.
Also, do I go tape on or bolt on, I am leaning towards tape as I don't want to drill the body in case I don't like it.
I will search for a few pics of what I want and add them in a few.
Thanks as always for any help.
Lastly, the rims are the stock silver, I might plastidip them, gloss black is what comes on the factory rims, correct?
Examples of the color I am looking for below:

Yes, the factory Z51 style spoiler is carbon flash. GM also makes a wing style spoiler and some of the forum vendors carry their own interpretation of the z51 and wickerbill spoiler. If you search, there's a thread about a tape on spoiler someone installed, otherwise there are a few factory z51 style spoilers in the for sale section here. Good luck, and congrats on your new ride!

There is a factory Z51 spoiler for sale right now in the Parts For Sale section, in Carbon Flash. Think they are asking $200. Just what you are looking for...

Here is my suggestion, If you go with the Z51 spoiler, get a new one from Cultrag Performance. They are selling a lot of the GM parts for dealer cost, the Z51 spoiler is available in all the body colors and carbon flash. It will come with all the hardware and a template for mounting. From what has been posted the stick on spoiler is not a great fit and will require some silicon to fill the gaps, along with a bit of effort to keep both outside corners down until set. It seems that as you get one corner down the flex in the spoiler pops the other side up. I don't know if this happens all the time but...
I would also consider wrapping the mirrors to match, this would match the factory color scheme. As would the addition of the carbon flash badge package, if your car does not have it. Lastly I would powder coat the wheels, it is not costly and would be much more durable than plasti dip. Oh, one other item is have the dealer install the spoiler, although not a hard job, having it done by them would eliminate a DIY screw up. If they make a boo boo they will fix it.
