I caught Vette Fever last year at this time, and was going to sell my G8 to get one. Put the car up for sale for a few weeks, but decided I put too much time and money into it, and made lots of great friends through the G8 community, and ended up keeping it and forget about the Vette for awhile. I ended up putting some more $$ into the G8, porting the TVS1900 blower, overdriving it, replacing the cam again, new fuel system, transmission cooler.

Car is running great, but I got Vette Fever again a few months ago. I decided to keep the G8 and look at getting a C7 too. There are 4 or 5 Chevrolet dealers in the area here, and none of them would honor Supplier Pricing, except 1 but they didn't have what I wanted on the lot, I they are not a big dealer so ordering probably would have been an issue. I didn't want to order anyway, since what I was wanting was pretty common on the big dealers lots.

I spent some time looking at used cars, and they didn't seem to be but a few thousand cheaper than what MacMulkin and Kerbeck pricing was, which at the time was at 9% vs Supplier Pricing that was at around 7%. Then Kerbeck posted their 12% sale on 2LTs, which is exactly what I was looking for!

I had it shipped down by Exotic Auto Transport and got here Friday. I could have flown in and drove it home, but since I got a manual and have never owned one, but have driven them years ago, I decided it was best to have it shipped. Didn't want to relearn in big city traffic on the way back south.

So, here it is. 2016 2LT, M7, Z51, Arctic White, Red interior, Nav/PDR, Mag Ride, Carbon Flash spoiler/mirrors/badges.

I have my Supercharged G8 Automatic(no replacement for a Z06....but it will do!) and my Naturally Aspirated C7 Manual(which I am keeping stock.........that's what I keep telling myself).

Great looking Vette, you will love the M7 very easy to drive. Enjoy it and of course enjoy the G8 beast as well.

Congratulations on the new car.. I am sure that you will find the M7 very easy to learn, although 5, 6, and 7 might give you a bit of a tussle at first. But, hell, you really don't need 5, 6, or 7, the car will go 140 in 4th. What more could you want?
I am giving you about 2 months before the mods begin.

Thanks, I'm loving it! Been doing a bunch of mixed driving around the area to get those first 500 miles in, and relearning the manual. Still get a little nervous at stop lights in traffic. Killed it once....luckily the gal behind me was paying attention and didn't hit me from behind......GRRRRR. Just need seat time.

Really like the Rev Match. It really smooths out my shifts, both up and down, and downshifting sounds bad a$$.

Haven't really messed much with any of the techie stuff....will get into that. Need to figure out the memory seats. Watched a few videos on it, but it doesn't seem to be working for me. The auto exit works, the seat moves back and steering wheel up when opening the door, as I programmed it. But, when I start the car, it moves to some random position, and not what I have programmed as Position 1. I have to hold the 1 button until it reaches the driving position.

Get alot of thumbs up driving down the road.

Great pair. The G8 is honey of car, almost completely overlooked in the market as it unfortunately came out right at the end of Pontiac. But what a great sedan - nice styling, well built, and fabulous interior, and of course its stout drivetrain. Every time I see one of those I think what a shame they didn't "transfer" that car over Caddy or Chevy to keep it going after folding Pontiac.

Congrats on the new Stingray - sharp vette. You'll enjoy it.

Turns out I had everything setup correct, but the key fob I was using was not #1. I was just using the fob the delivery driver was using that the dealership used. Had me scratching my head. Tried the other fob, and it worked as programmed.

Congrats and welcome to the family...

I've been a G8 GT owner since 2009, but traded it in on a 2015 Z51 back in September and love it. I still frequent the g8 sites...and go by G8 GT V8 on GRRRR8...

I love the color combo you choose. Mine's pretty similarly equipped except, Blade Silver, Jet Black, and A8...

As one G8 owner to another - congrats on the decision to keep your G8 and also on your new Corvette. I had two G8s, an 08 GT in Ignition Orange Metallic - now my wife's DD, and a Stryker Blue Metallic 09 GXP A8. Sold the GXP a couple years ago and now trying to buy it back from the guy I sold it to. Replaced it with a 2015 Laguna Blue Z51 3LT M7 vert with Brownstone.

You are right that there are some great folks in the G8 Community. You'll find the same to hold true here as well. You will love the Vette as much or more than the G8. Enjoy both!

BJ

Very cool. Yeah, I didn't want to get rid of the car just to make room for the vette, then to regret it down the road. I have owned the car since new in August 2008. I was ready for something new, but still love the G8 and it makes me smile every time I drive it......the supercharger helps a lot with that!

Good luck on getting the GXP back. That is a rare car for sure.

They did, the G8 was turned into the Chevy SS(Only kept the GXP, the non LS3 ones were dumped). Same LS3, same transmission, different badge and updated interior, plus mag shocks. The G8 and SS are both just Holden Commodores, the only one we get in the States now is the LS3 powered Commodore with a Chevy badge.
