Hi everyone I'm about to order my first Corvette (great discounts going on now) and would like your advice on the wheels and tires. Chrome or nickel plated ( I live in Il so I have to either heat my garage or buy a second set for the winter). as I may have them power coated Don't know if it matters what type of rim they start with.
Do you need a second set of tire sensors, or do they travel with the wheels.
I am ordering tomorrow

Lbr or lb I will have to choose tomorrow

Order the car with the base wheels. That will get you through the winter, what's left of it. This will also give you time to watch the parts for sale section for a set of used chromies or to jump on one of the fantastic wheel sales from one of our forum vendors that specializes in custom wheels.

Also keep in mind that the Z06 tires are not cold weather friendly. Snow or not. There are no all season tires in Z06 sizes. That is one of the main reasons I opted for a base C7. Even though I thankfully no longer live up there, I wanted to be able to install a/s run flats since I still have family in Chicago. Once you get into the forties, the traction on Z06 tires goes south so to speak very quickly.

Also, Bob at House of Wheels gets a lot of dealer take off wheels. He is a long time forum vendor that many on here, myself included, have bought from over the years without any drama.
